Heiken Ashi with No Redraw

Hi, Is there a Heiken Ashi Smoothed indicator available which does not redraw on the current bar? Any help appreciated.

Heiken Ashi

It would be great if there is. I have been looking for something like that. The few heiken that I have in my collection all repaint the current bar. I will watch and see if any on posts one. Jatki24300

Hi Jatki24300

Hi

Thanks prasx. Will try it out..

Variation on Heiken Ashi

I find the HA bars a distraction and sometimes get in the way of viewing the actual price bar.

I do want to know when the HA bar flips and changes color (eg. a previous up trend changes to a down trend).

Is there an existing HA indicator that allows you to hide the HA bars but to show when the HA flips and changes color, with some marker?

In addition to that; If one wanted to see where the HA bars were; is there a Moving Average that allows the input to be the HA open or close. One could do an average of 1 period and plot the open and close of the HA without the bar taking up so much space.

Thanks Iinzall

Thanks Iinzall for the sw alert in your post 24 (and thanks to the moderator that moved my post to this thread).

The alert indicator gets the HA bars off the chart to make the price bars clear.

I think the 3 period moving average is better than the (plain) HA this alert is based on; so will see if I can alter the code.

But it does what I want in cleaning up the chart , so thanks.

As far as: can an EA work on the change in color?; that should be an easy task. The change in color simply represents if the open of the HA bar is higher or lower than the close of the HA bar verses which was higher on the last bar. There is no magic there.

Modified HA indicator

I have modified the HA MA indicator to either remove the tails or remove the bodies and replace with moving average lines. See attached.

I mentioned my concern that the HA bars interfere with seeing the actual price bar. I am not aware of anyone using the tails of the HA bars so they can be easily removed. It is the open/close that I find useful.

So "HA no tails" just shows the HA body and by color change shows when the HA bar flips.

The "HA lines" shows only the moving average of the HA Open and Close and thus clears the view better.

The next step (which I need help with) is how to show what is called a "Non HA Bar". This occurs when the body of the HA bar (open to close) is enclosed by the body (open to close) of the actual price candlestick.

Normally a Non HA Bar will only show up at the end of a run when the HA bars "catch up" to the price bars. Often the Non HA bar will occur BEFORE the HA direction flips. Thus one can trade the takeout of the Non HA Bar and be one bar ahead of the trader that is waiting for the flip in color.

You can see when the open/close lines are within the body of the price bar but I would like to post a symbol on those bars which are Non HA Bars to highlight them.

I have reviewed some other indicators that do flag a cross etc; such as "3MAs Cross Arrows" and "wma_cross2" and "StochCrossing" but I do not see the part of the code where the flag is printed on the chart.

If someone can point me to the code that posts the flag or a tutorial I can read; I will modify the indicator and post.

Take a look at the NON HA Bars and see if you agree they are often (not always) useful.

Compare below the original HA MA and the two variations.

I want to get the Heiken Ahi Smoothed indicator for all the different time frames in straight lines underneath each other in a window under the 5 min chart. Does anyone know how to do this? I've seen it, but don't know how to do it. Regards, Johan Beugger from South Africa.
