EXIT point - LOGIC

Greetings! Can anyone give me any ideas for indicator based exits

strategies that you may think works. I like to try anything and everything.

thanks for the help!

10x

hi.

I already saw all the links, thanks.

I am looking to open discussion on more creative ways.

one way that i found is to use other EA :-)

"reliable but still profitable, and which produce signals typically with the same frequency (not 10 times more often or 10 times more seldom).

As every EA, A has some effects not modelled (maybe A does not get the oil price as input), but C may respond to "oil effects". It means:

* When A created a LONG signal, then ENTER a LONG position.

* If later C creates a SHORT signal, then this means to go STAND-ASIDE.

So we do not wait until A finally brings a SHORT signal.

Summary: a mediocre short signal means "close the long position !".

allso thanks for the links and the quick respons,

Good thread topic.

I prefer to use a TS and a % of balance TP.

Is it possible to have an exit allocated to a specific entry condition i.e. you have an ea/ea's that have multiple entry signals like trending, scalping, swing signal etc for example can you have the scalping position exit while keeping the trending and swing positions open. If it can be done you could in theory build one very interesting EA that could take advantage of most market conditions.

Someone has bound to have done this before.

Just an idea

Cheers

Beno

yep

thats a big idea,,,

I am stil looking...so i will try to post ideas that I will found,

Indicator or Process to get the best trade Exit.

Fellow members,

I would open a discussion to know what tool (indicator) or process do you use to get the best exit point in a trade.

Thanks.

For winners or losers?

I respect all opinions and ideas.

Personally and IMHO I don't believe in any mathematical formula about risk/reward applied to trading.

Why?

If trading would be a mathematical question it should be easy to do.

Sell when when RSI is touching 70 because mathematically the price is overbought. Sell the MACD cross because mathematically price is turning down. And lot of examples more.

If trading is mathematical question why the phrase: cut your loses soon and let your profits run.

Trading is far away Newtonian mathematical we use everyday. If not, trading systems will be money machines.

Another hard example is the current global meltdown. What failed? All methods based on maths like black scholes, pricing models, arbitrage, risk control, all are under water. Growing calculations, future returns calculations and so on.

In trading we only could make estimations. The famous 3:1 RR is a myth just because we assume the price would have a predicted behavior. Wrong.

If this is true it would be easy for everybody to make trading systems and collect the profits.

However, reality tell us another thing. How much times you take a trade based on 3:1, 2:1 just to see the price start to move inverse in the middle of the trade. What we should do at this time? keep wait for our 2:1 RR

That's why I've asked for winners or losers.

I made the things easy: A little after you see you're in the wrong side of the market get out, no matter all possible RR or because I could support this losses and I can tolerate to be in the risk of 1 of the 2 reward.

Also, I need to close this profitable trade because I've reached the 3 of the reward. No Sr.

I set my LS where I believe is the best point. I move the SL to the entry point soon as the trade have a small profit. And then I will move my SL another couple points to collect some money even if the price becomes against me. Then, l leave the trade to fate and judgment. Where the price will stop? I have an idea but I'm not sure and because that I can't bet the 3:1

Sometimes I close the trade just to see the price move more and more in my direction so I blame hard and loud and the I wait for another trade.

Just that.
