What you say has some elements of truth. However we cannot really judge them becoz there are so many people scamming nowadays, its hard to distinguish between the good people and bad ones.

Larry Williams made 10k into 1million in one year. He is selling books, going to seminars, doing courses and teaching new traders.
Some other examples Dr.Elder, Dr.Van Tharp, Joe Ross and lots of other people. Where there are genuine people, there are people trying to scam people. This , like any other business will attract its share of frauds.

You cannot go and critisize anyone becoz he is charging something for his course. The biggest traders are sometimes quite frugal and dont need to buy an island to stay on. Some do, some dont. That has got nothing to do with his ability to trade.

I have done my share of buying courses and lost so much money, I am skeptical about everyones claims. But learning never hurt anyone. I doubt I will join his course or buy his indicators tho.

Forums have opened up doors for small traders who dont have mentors to learn and share trading experiences.

The people really willing to help and share are people who have started this forum and work hard to make indicators and EA and help other traders.
People like codersguru, digital, inograd and so many others who have helped so many people. I am sure so many of them are also excellent traders. But yet they come here to help other traders.

I wonder why they never bought an island yet? Just kidding ofcourse

This forum is a great place to share and improve esp for the new traders.

Though this webinar was trying to sell its product, there were some key points any beginner can absorb.

We just take what is good for us and as long as they are not spamming this board with their posts, I think that is fair enough.

I just listened to the 60 odd min presentation (http://www.forex.com/forex-seminars-...g2-listen.html) and got up to the point of the live room (which I have posted a screen shot of) and just had to laugh! Are these guys for real? This is a selling platform, no less. One minute he's saying work down from a Daily chart to 15 min, trade the direction of the Daily chart always, enter on a pop, get out on a larger time frame MACD crossover! LOL ! If you followed that advice, you would be cleared out in a month! No professional trader trades the crossovers of a MACD! Then with his next breath, he is saying it's ok to enter and exit on the same time frame! This guy skips all over the place with his charts, cherry picking the winners, throwing in a few losers for sceptics. He is not consistant at all, his buying of Lots are all over the place, one minute he decides to buy 1 lot, the next he's buying 5 Lots! It's a load of tripe, that means to me all the set ups he uses are tripe too.

Have a look at the screen shot: I have marked a few interesting questions from traders who are currently being mislead and are maybe (I hope so) waking up to this fact. The last question just about weighs this company and the Snake Oil Salesmen up.

Yeah I know, I have go on a bit, but guys (and Gals) I'm sick through my teeth of these con artist!
Who got rich in the great USA Gold Rush? That's right, the guys selling the Picks and Spades!

Thank God for sites like this, at least you get to test stuff without the outlay, and speak to real people trying to make their life better with no underlying motive.
