Hey SummitFX - how have you been doing with RC? I know we talked alot about back in April. What kind of experiences have you had with it? As you can tell I absolutely love it and can honestly say it provides the best setups I have ever seen. Also by its nature keeps your losses very small. To me its as close to the "holy grail" of setups as you can get and the rest is up to the traders trade & money mgt.

I also wanted to let you know none of those comments were directed at you as we have talked in detail in the past and I know you are a good guy and good trader. I am curious though why you decided to add more indicators to RC. Did you run into problems that needed addressing or were you just a tinkering? I am guilty of tinkering with new shit constantly. I'm a hardcore geek and love figuring out indicators and the best settings, etc. But that has also been my worst enemy over the years - "the grass is always greener syndrome". I'm constantly battling with myself to stop doing that and catch myself falling into that trap frequently. Thats why with RC I am determined to leave the setups alone unless I find a pressing need to solve a problem with it - but so far I havent found one to be honest.

Talk to you later.

Hi TJ - so when you say you are using RC do you mean the original GoldenEquity setup without all the indicators just candle action ? Thanks Lee

I love price action and reading candle patterns. I think RandyCandles are the BEST candle patterns I've seen. But for me personally, I need a bit more than just the raw candles. I tried to trade just from the candles and it's difficult to follow rules that have some doubt in them. Randy did a pretty good job of explaining his system before he was run off, but there are some questions I would like to have asked him to clarify some things.

I also do not think Randy traded these candles completely in a vacuum...he himself said you need to trade these using ALL the other knowledge you have about the markets... I looked VERY closely at RandyCandles and took a little flak for trying to be a purist about it until I could learn what I needed to know. I encouraged those in this thread to figure out what they could about RC's. Rad's says he doesn't even use the RandyCandles anymore and that's his choice. However, I still DO use them on my charts...but not as a standalone system in and of themselves. I use them in concert with Rad's indicators which I find to be MUCH more than just pretty flashing lights, bells and whistles. They are ACCURATE to a degree I've never seen before.

I'm not posting here to tout Rad's system per se, but more so to say that I think this whole thing is about finding what works for ME and what works for YOU. It's wrong for anyone to get on the soap box and belittle others just because they see things differently than we do. Everyone has a different viewpoint and no two people will always see the same thing the same way.

Now, as far as RandyCandles, I don't know what else needs to be or CAN be added. They are good indicators of price action, but nothing or no one but God can predict the future. This is why I feel it is best to use non-redundant sources of market information to help us make good trade decisions. Maybe some day I'll be good enough to trade naked, only looking at raw price action....but I'm not there yet....are you?

Happy Trading All!

Hi Lee, yes that is what I mean. If you really study RC, you will see the candles combined with the MA's give you a TON of info based on the color of the body, the color of the "stems", the location of the stems within the body (does it poke out both sides of the body or just one side), where the candles formed in relation to the pink SMA, how the candle deflects off the D line or chews right through it, the SMA line ANGLES, etc, etc.

There is a ton of info being thrown at you and to me it is all the info you could possibly ask for. To me personally - anymore info would be redundent info I already have on the chart and just slow down my trade decisions or even confuse me - but that is just me - I like things simple and clear and this just clicks in my brain and does so quickly.

Hi TJ, very interesting stuff I will be taking another look at randycandles seems like GoldenEquity didn't post all the rules if you could post any trade setups and why you took them would be very useful, we can start focusing and expanding our knowledge about pure RC setups now Rad has a new forum, cheers

Yes, I recall our conversation. I never looked back and have continued trading RC's exclusively intraday. It doesn't get any better or easier. I'm an absolute tinkering nut but I must say I'm hooked on Radatats stuff. Like Pipsketeer, I've never seen anything more visually appealing than his indies. It's all about personal preferences. You must have confidence when pulling the trigger otherwise you will shoot yourself in the foot. Continued success. I popped in this morning to see if there was anything new and interesting LOL. Better go grab some money now- it's 6am

Arrow Waterfall

Blessings to all,

You all have my respect and honestly, I never expected this...amazing.

I didn't get to share this before.
This is the other "half" of RandyCandles.... the SMAWaterfall

waterfall.jpg

properties2.jpg

4pair.jpg

It's still about price action and patterns of behavior....the price respecting or disrespecting the adjacent sma's and the static targets.
The white SMA keeps you from jumping the gun the candles confirm timing of pivots.

You can only look for probability...... not rules with no exceptions.
I trade manually with much "feel". I look for patterns.

Start small and build confidence.
Talk about patterns with each other.
Dialoging in a chatroom in realtime would be a good idea for this group.

The RC's give the timing and the filter.
The waterfall gives the patterns. Keep looking for things you "recognize".

Try the constant feedback of the M1 timeframe.... it keeps painting you a picture of price action.

It's all I use. It works.

Enjoy.
My intention is to pop in once in awhile and post some thoughts.
Thanks to all who pm'd me in these past months. I'm kind of a recluse.
no offense.

Hi GoldenEquity welcome back and thanks for such a great method, we are going to stick to talking about RandyCandles in this thread now as Rad has kindly set up another forum. Any more info about the different kind of setup candles such as zorros, chillis etc would be great and thanks for the SMA waterfall idea.
