It does not work. This indicator is too slow. It looks great on history but signals too late. Also it can change colour of the bar while it is in progress. I tried this idea. That was the first I'd done after making EA for mikejody's original idea. Just start any EA in visual mode and put that indicator over the graph - you'll see it youself.

Exclamation Heiken-Ashi Smoothed System Help Request

I know this is an old thread, but I am just now covering this ground and want to try to make a system of the Heiken-Ashi Smoothed system work. I have downloaded the system but cannot get it to work on my MetaTrader 4. It simply will not load. Other HA systems taken from this site have loaded but none work like I would like.
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.
I want to trade the Heiken-Ashi Smoothed on 30 min, 1 hr, 4 hour charts and almost always be in the market. I also want to trade mini contracts, but several of the systems so far from this site only trade micro contracts, despite my settings in Metatrader 4.
I want simple rules,
1.when there is a blue bar, buy on the next tick, exit when the price of a bar closes below a blue bar.
2. when there is a red bar, sell on the next tick, exit when the price of a bar closes above a red bar.
I have also noticed the problem of bars being repainted and wonder if instead of the color of the bar, the bar closing above or below the mean average of the bar work better.
Is somebody interested in this and would like to help?

Thumbs up

I want to recover this thread because i´m very interested in Heiken Ashi.

I propose a simple HA strategy, i´m trading manually for a few days and the returns are good.

Use Heiken Ashi Smoothed: 3,6,3,2

TF: 5 minutes on EUR/USD (other pair could be tested)

No stop & No TP -> MM is in the candles

Long:

Enter in the first blue candle after a red candle (after close), for example 0,1 lots. If the next candle is also blue, enter 0,1 lots again in the new candle. If the next candle is also blue 0,1 lots again...successively. When a candle is red close all long trades and reverse to short trading (not martingale)

Short:

Similar to long trades but with red candles... First red candle 0,1 lots... 0,1....0,1.... and when a candle is blue close all short trades and reverse to long trading.

This system is always in the market.

Any commentaries or suggestions?

An EA to backtest the strategy would be nice, i´m not programeer

* I´m sorry but my english is not good

Best Regards!

I am correct to assume the maximum number of lots is 3? Also I sometimes see two different colors on the same candle. How do you handle those? Thanks
