Thumbs up My trading Journal

Im testing a new system that i've put together and ive decided to post my results here in the public domain. If anyone has any insights, critisms, or obsevations of this system please feel free to let me know. The system uses a collection of .MQ4 indicators that i've come across over the months. I'll give credit to authers where I can, but for the most part I dont know who wrote these. For the most part all I can do is give credit to the person who wrote the metatrader program, but that may not be who actually came up with the indicator. The indicators are: Brain Trend Signal and Brain Trend Stopline, from Brain Trend inc. DTZigZag, from Klot, Heikan Ashi, from MetaQuates Software Corp, SHI Channel True, from Shurka and Kevin, TSR Slope Direction Line from Wizardserg, BBhisto, from Nick Bilak, Demarker, from Metaquates Software corp, and Diamiani Voltameter, from Luis Guilherme Damiani. Here's the list again:

In Chart Window:
Brain Trend Signal
Brain Trend StopLine
DTZingZag
Heikan Ashi
SHI Channel True
Slope Direction Line

Seperate Window:
BBhisto
Demarker
Diamiani Votameter

I take signals based on whether the SHI Channel True is indicating an uptrend or downtrend. I find that this indicator is pretty accurate at providing lines that the price is likely to bounce off of or retract from. If the Channel is negative then I would be looking to sell if positive, buy. I take sell or buy signals from the Brain Trend Signal. I use DDzigzag and Demarker to alert me to upcoming oppurtunities. DT is an indicator that repaints, so its usefullness by itself is not that great, but it is good when I couple it with Demarker (input 3). I place a 0 level on the demarker and use its position to guage what the short term trend is. The crosses below and above 0 correspond to the signals given by Brain Trend and thats how I use it to prepare for upcoming oppurtunities. If the Demarker (set to 3) is above 0 but falling, I know that the BrainTrend signal is likely to give a sell signal soon. All of my trades are taken on the 1 hour time frame.
Filters: Not all crosses of the modified Demarker would be profitable however and it is not enough by itself to make a good system. While the market does move in short term trends with or against the primary trend, we as traders do not know how much the price is going to move per cross. For this I have included a filtering system that I have found to be good. I know whether I would be selling or buying already because of the position of the Channel, and I add to that the postion of the BBhisto relative to the BrainTrend Signal and the Demarker. For example, if the channel is negative and slopping down, it is indicating a long term downtrend in progress, so I would be looking to sell. If, when the Demarker cuts below the zero line and the Brain Trend sell singal goes off the BBhisto remains above 0 I do not take the trade. The BBhisto is a representation of the Bollienger Bands, set to 13 and the 0 line of relates to the middle line of the Bollienger. So, if a sell signal is generated by the system but the price is still above the middle line (the moving average) of the Bollienger, I do not take it. I have found that in this case the indicators are reacting to noise, and a short term uptrend is still in effect. The second tool I use to filer singals is the Voltameter. This is a very nice representation of the ATR which recommends very clearly either "trade" or "do not trade". If the grey line is above the green and the "do not trade" recommendation is given I but all my signal indicators (BT, Demarker, BBhisto and Channel) I may not take the trade, because volume is very low and it may not be an indication of a true, new short term trade. I am considering removing the Slope Direction Line because I only use it to advise me as to the direction of the long term trend, but the Channel True indicator does that pretty well, and the Slope line adds a bit of Clutter to the chart. But in general if I am getting a sell signal and the Slope line is still white, then it is advising against it. The Slope Direction Line is a real lagger though, and that makes me wonder about its usefullness. I may replace this line with a MTF indicator like MTF MACD or RSI.
My minimum goal per trade is 15 pips. My stop loss is 10, but I may let it run for 20 if I feel that the risk is justifiable, but never more than 20. However, in many cases if the price does not confirm the signal immediately by falling hard(for a sell signal say) I may close it for a small loss. In most cases the good trades make up for small losses with gains up to 30 pips, in some cases all the way up to 50. Once the profit hits 15, if DTZigzag does not predict a reversal in the other direction by placing a star under the price (again, using a short as an example) and if Volume is still rising, I will likely stay in the position to try to get those 30 pips. However, once price rises to 30 I place my stop loss to lock in a 20 pip profit. I only trade on USD/JPY, EUR/USD, AUD/USD, NZD/USD, EUR/JPY

Im including a pic of the system. If anyone requests any of the indicators I will post them.
Im including a picture of the set up.

I forgot to mention: If I am acting on a sell signal then the last signal given by the DTzigzag MUST be in line with the sell signal, vise versa for a buy. So, fo the sell signal, if the Channel is strongly negative BUT the last signal given by the DTZIGZAG is a buy signal I still wont take the trade, because in that case, its likely that the trend is about to reverse. When this happens the CHANNEL will simply change from negative to postive and provide a uptrend channel. Each indicator has a weakness, and this system is about countering those weaknesses with the virtues of other indicators.
ALSO: If the Channel is postive and there is a promising short signal I sometimes take those. The retractions of a long term trend are usually powerful enough to give a 15 pip profit, but in these cases I get out as soon as it gets there. There is no trying to get more than 15 here. If im still on when the correction comes if it doesnt get filtered out Id probly take that too and do a double play on the market. The filtering system can seem a bit restricting at times and it sometimes gives me no trade days, but it does keep me safe. What must absolutely must be present is that DTzigzag must support the signal given by Brain Trend. DTzigzag will repaint its arrow if its predicting a new downtrend and a new high is made on the next candle, but if it isnt then the signal stays. This is when the signal from BT will come.
