Hercules EA (Free Usage)

Hi Everybody,

I have an EA that I am willing to offer for free on this forum. I will likely be back to offer a much more sophisticated EA for sell in the coming days so I figure that it can't hurt to build some good will here first. I have another decent breakout EA based on Fractals that I might also post for free here in the coming weeks.

This is a very simple breakout MA based on rapid price deviations from a significant moving average. It is designed to work on the H1 time frame. There are seversal versions of the EA each designed to trade a specific currency cross (or crosses) The Hercules_v3_Majors EA is ready to trade EUR/USD and USD/CHF. I have also attached the GBP/JPY version thad is set to trade GBP/JPY. If anyone is interested in receiving the other versions you can just drop me a line by PM and I'll be happy to send them. The lot size and MM is also easily adjusted in each EA. This EA participated in the 2006 A.T.C. where it was able to hold the top spot for most of the competition before suffering from a string of losses that eventually knocked it out of contention. Modifications have recently been made to reduce the drawdowns suffered by Hercules in oscillating market environments but it is still recommendable to pair this EA with a range trading strategy in order to achieve a more consistent equity curve. The risk:reward ratio however is EXTREMELY favorable and winning trades tend to be quite a bit larger than the losing ones.

This is the very first EA that I ever designed (what now seems like over a million years ago), it was coded by David Lin.

Happy Trading!

Smile Hercules Backtest EUR/USD and GBP/JPY

I have attached backtesting reports covering the past two years of Hercules on both EUR/USD and GBP/JPY. As can be seen, Hercules is not an EA that trades frequently... rather it waits for high-probability opportunities. It also has an excellent risk:reward ratio.

For other free versions of Hercules (designed to trade different crosses) please contact me directly at; forexportfolio@hotmail.com

Happy Trading

Hercules EA

Hi Daniel,

Hercules is designed to run on the H1 time frame. It is not so much a scalper as a breakout EA.

That's strange that you are having problems with the EA... try re-compiling it.

There are also EUR/AUD and Commodity Crosses (USD/CAD, AUD/USD, NZD/USD) versions of the EA available for free. If interested just drop me a line at forexportfolio@hotmail.com

Happy Trading!

Vince

Hercules

Hey Daniel,

To answer your other question... I do have live results available. However I test all my strategies (currently over 70) together in one account so it is nearly impossible for me to separate out the results from one strategy in particular. I am attaching the group results for last month (live account).

Hercules Trades

Hi Peter,

That is correct. The EA will only enter trades in GBP/JPY maybe one or two times a month. It is a very careful trader and its winning trades are usually very large. It enters during large swings in momentum either from bullish to bearish or vice versa so it won't trade much during range bound markets. The current settings are very good, but you can try to find better ones. The key is knowing or finding a base MA that is significant for the currency pair. If you do find better settings please let me know.

Happy Trading,

Vince
