Roodstart, I understand your position, but I really tryed to get in contact with the seller to provide a limited evaluation copy, as I think IS ESSENTIAL TO TEST THIS EA BEFORE you buy it. Still no answer.....
I do carry trades and fully understand them, as I make them for at least 5 months now with amazing results. If the EA is a basket trader, as I understood from the previous posts, then it don't need a stoploss, and is absolutely normal to place trades even against the trend. If someone here knows what the word HEDGE means, then that's the explanation!
And if the EA makes even a well balanced basket, it's perfect!
But I still need to test it....

I'd like to try this EA however I'm little leary of it.

I emailed them asking two questions,

1. Can it be leased for demo? (simple plan to lease if for a month, then if it works take it live)

2. Since they require account details, I asked simply if they require the account password? (which if thats the case no deal)

It's been over a week and I've heard nothing, so I'm leary of a product with zero support, I'm also leary by the avoidance of two really basic questions. Hopefully posting them here will get a public answer.

I agree the live/demo forward test looks really impressive. But for the last 4 months we have not had any trending market, only ranging. That s why i think backtest is necessary...I do not believe at all that the owner of the expert did not run any backtest. The "open price only" optiongives high reliability for expert that takes position only at the opening of the bar, which is the case with PID expert. So why is it so difficult to post bactest reports? Forward test is good to confirm the backtest...

This is a nice statement you make. you know what you are talking about. Hedging is the word - and therefore it is not done to make backtests on each induvidual pair, for thet exposure is different on baskettrading with all the 12 pairs at the same time, or one should do backtests on all the pairs over exact the same period and then do a lot of calculation between the correlationpairs etc. But what I do not understand is: why not buy this ea , and demo with it. It will cost you one month fee, which is a few dollar (and fewer euro's of course). you can demo with the live version, no problem. When I email the maker I always get an answer within a few hours, always.

That is interesting because Azmel has answered every one of my emails. Azmel has posted several ea's on this forum and he has helped numerous people on this forum making ea's for them. He is a very honest and professional person.

Regretably, I am not issuing free demos/trials anymore. Thank you all for participating in the beta testing of this EA since December last year. With the release of SP4, all free trials and demos have ended.

Instead, you could log in to the Investor login/password I have provided on post #9 (page 1) to watch the forward-test performance of the PID SP4. The forward-test is nearing its 12th week.

With any type of martingale strategy, one must be careful and prepared to lose their whole account when a monster trend appears. But I think if you understand this, then you can adjust to this possibility as well. Like any EA, with the added risk comes the rewards, and if you have an apetite for risk, then you roll the dices.

Sure, I understood that even before I tested the EA, and I didn't even know it was a martingale strategy before I started using it. I was merely trying it out to see how well it performed, and after disappointing results, I won't be using it anymore. You probably could do well with this EA if you had the time to periodically manually close trades on many currency pairs when they became profitable, because I noticed that occasionally the EA will produce 100's of pips and the trend will reverse without the EA closing the trade before the reversal.

Although I do believe that you code this EA and by the looks of the forward test it's pretty impressive. What I don't believe is that there are people beta testing this EA from December of last year like you said. First of all you join this forum on December of last year. Second, this is probably your first post back from January 18, 2008 saying you just started Forex this year and asking a question about leverage. 10points 3.mq4

Ajeff was saying that you are a honest and professional person. Lying about people beta testing your EA from last year when you just started coding MQL4 at the start of this year doesn't seem honest at all if you ask me.
