Hi simba!
I must say you are a brave man. It's hard to imagine holding a position 400 pips down and waiting patiently for the come back. Your usd/cad is almost breakeven now, my question is what made you beleive that it will come back. You are one of the experts on the forum, so there must be something you base your trades on. If you don't mind please shed some light on that. If you decide not to, I can understand that.

Thanks for your (undeserved) kind comments,basically I try to answer this question:

Are Lower/Higher prices attracting buyers or sellers?

I base my short term trades on cyclic analysis and short term volatility..this is clearly not the case with USDCAD..which is based on fundamentals plus(premature,in this case) timing based on propietary chaotic oscillators that measure if the feedback loop is positive or negative...the fundamentals are still there and timing has improved ,since the pair has started to move in my intended direction..basically ,as long as I use a low leveraged position,with positive carry(swap),I can stand the heat..and as soon as I believe things have changed ..I exit..

In addition,I have to say that gut feeling is an important part of my decision making..as an example,there could be very good opportunities in both EURZAR and USDZAR,but,as of today..they don`t ring true,something is not clear(for me) with these pairs,don`t like their smell nor their texture..I will be,very probably,mistaken,but I have to feel that the long term position I take aligns with my feelings
