Dave188: development will continue to be open, but there is a group of us who have email set aside so we can be more blunt about development. The development thread is for suggestions, regular code posts, test results, etc.

We do need a place for statements to be stored as well. Detailed statements are useful for developers, but not always. We need settings, and we need to see those settings live tested!

I would like the User thread to have User questions. They need to go somewhere. The reason that "read post#1" is in the title of the thread is cut down on duplicate questions, not stop all questions completely. This thread is getting very long, and I think it is unreasonable to expect new people to read it, or post/reply here.

Now people may contribute code and request a license for that code. Like "only include code in a GPL version of Phoenix" or something like that. Hendrick currently has the copyright to Phoenix but if every line of code is replaced, then it is "inspired by" and not "property of" Hendrick. Copyright and License are two things that community projects need to agree on. Currently: Copyright Hendrick, unstated license with no for sale redistribution rights - possibly including no reposting here. Hendrick let us develop Phoenix more, sort of releasing the code to the community although not in a legal contract.

In private communication with codevelopers he said they can do with it as they will.

I am committed to open development, open code. However, people who contribute code (not ideas but code) could require a specific license on their patch code. This is based on US and International copyright law.

Trust me, if I would think it's rubbish, I would leyt you know lol lol I just couldn't resist

No, it's perfect. Biiiig thank you for doing it. I will hopefully this weekend try to follow steps and see if I can make it.

Unfortunatelly, I'm not to techicall. I was following Hendrix tutor for 90% modeling and I got only around 50% grrrr.

I would guess, 90% is minimum, for effective optimization. Will try again.

Btw, someone posted guide for 99% modeling quality. (on this or Factory thread) Anyone tried to get 99%? Anyone have it and it is working?!? If we want to do some serious backtesting/optimization work, we probably need as good data as possible.

If someone got 99% - please, try to copy data into another computer and see if it is working. That way, we could all load (even those, that can't do it themself due lack of tehnicall knowledge) 99% and back/forward testing would be more reliable.

Someone posted link with one 99% quality for one pair. I downloaded it, unzipped it and placed into correct folder, but i couldn't loaded it for backtesting purpose. (but maybe I was doing something wrong...)

So, anyone else tried to get 99% modeling quality by simple downloading file and placed it into MT4? Does it work?

Vince, as of your "more silence from you next week" - I hope it is vacation and I hope you will enjoy, or you should not leave lol

Wau, hat down!

I hope I can somehow help with my limited knowledge and resources.

Btw, I have one quick cosmetic suggestion. Let every version have clearly changed/written in the code which (beta/sub)version it is - so it's shows in the comment for all those that are testing several EA's with one MT and for easy comparism of data.

I can do this. If you agree, I can start the thread right away.
I wish to contribute, but I'm affraid I may not be up to task due my full time job and my ocasionally absence from computer. So I wouldn't dare to be (main) moderator of a thread, but I would gladly be co-moderator - if that is OK with everyone and if it is needed.
(and if is possible of course - maybe ony one can be)

Q

Daraknor,

Is it possible to lock a thread in this forum somewhat like the Elite section? That seems to be the way to go if you want to have a somewhat trouble free interchange of ideas among developers. Something similar to a roundtable or a beta test thread that requires some type of admission criteria. I think if there is a serious interest in the creative thinking that a group like this can have then it would not be good to take this off in the corner where "small group think" is nurtured even by people who have an expertise without input from others who may not have an expertise as such, but they do have a gererative idea the causes everyone to tilt their head and say, ah yes! In short out of sight (ie off the forum, private emails, sequestered discussions) may prove counter productive (out of mind-for everyone else). Keep the idea in front of people asking questions offering ideas, as I think you have suggested, but not immediate access to the "board room." I guess my concern for the development team/thread is the cloud will move with the development people if there is no filter for admission to the "special place." I think there needs to be sometype of door on the development board room. Enough.

Greg

Yes, but it would require action by one of the Forum administrators. There are many levels of permissions and so forth, but we would need to impose upon the administrators each time we wanted to allow new people in, etc. The use of a private moderated mailing list was something mentioned by 5 people, I am following the collective volition. This way if someone leaves the group they still have access to all messages as well.

Phoenix 5_6_02

jpyusd pair has been running since 10/30/2006 on Mode 1 , gbpusd pair running on Mode 2 since 11/07/06. IBFX account. All coded presets used. Looks like the gbpusd pair needs some work. Anyone come up with settings better than coded in this version or, did I miss something. Been travelling this week. Without the gbpusd pair, the account would be up 16% since the beginning of the month!

Take a look at this document that was VERY kindly posted. It will help you and all the others that are complaining about settings.
