It's no use to backward test Phoenix for a longer period than 6 months. During the course of time the behaviour of pairs can change a lot. That's why we have to change the settings from time to time. I found that testing for 6 months is just the right period.
Tried your new settings for the EURJPY. It shows a nice Net Profit but the number of trades was only 55. However, everything below 90 trades in 6 months makes the results highly unreliable. Try a different approach. Forget all about the default settings and start with a completely different combination of settings. MD should be below 10% and the number of trades 90 or higher. Go for it!

OK, I wasn't aware of the min trade and max drawdown requirements. Will run some more numbers when I get time.
I’ve send a lot of people a copy of Phoenix 4.2 to play with. But until now only a few of you has shared his or hers results. I find this rather disappointing. This is a community of sharing: sharing your EA’s, sharing your opinions, sharing your results, sharing your whatever, but share! I can only improve Phoenix with your help. Without your help Phoenix will return to its ashes!
hi Hendrick! As I am an upsolutely Newbie and a big fan of yours, I installed the Phoenix v4.2_2 into my MT4. I must tell you that I trade 10 pairs. I was runnning it over 14 hours and it just did 3!! trades. I must have forgotten something. I did all those settings mentioned on this forum for the pairs, but still it seems very slow trading. I trade in 5M. Please advise. Thanks a bunch.

Hi Hendrick, I am one of these people and I have the Pheonix running 24/7 on a server being tested now. I will publish the results after a week or so. Right now the EA is making trades. I have also started work on optimising settings to try and beat your optimisation.
Thanks for all your clear work on this, more contributions are on the way.
One problem I have had with the latest Pheonix is that the EA won't trade on a micro demo running at InterbankFX.
I will re-write the code to try and make it work but before I do I thought it would be sensible to ask if anybody else had solved this problem?
If not I will solve it, but I could do something more useful, (like optimising the trading settings), if a solution to this exists already?
This is worth doing because then people can trade live with this great EA on an interbank micro account with only a small capital investment.
There's a new thread for Phoenix (look for Phoenix 2007). The problem with interbank and micro-accounts is fixed. You can find the lastest version of Phoenix in post #1.
