Sometimes I wish I have the ability to delete threads that have nothing to do with Forex. During all my time here, I came across porn threads, furniture selling, import/export business, blah, blah, blah...... It gets to be very annoying. If such a thread gets deleted, that account and its IP should be banned for eternity....

It is not difficult because almost all spam which is not related to the forex is coming from one country (Russia). But the problem is that they are using the robots to post the spam, most of them are not visiting the forum phisically, don't speak English and changing IP addressess all the time using some free software.

So, the problem can not be solved totally.
Only we can do is to create some discusions/threads in this Non Related Discussions section about some hobbies such as football, music and so on just to refresh the situation slowly ...

Because no one spammer will post something if it is not popular ... If the spammer is fully sure that no one will visit his spammer's links so he will not post.
But they are posting ...

They where joining at an incredible rate and deleting them was like trying to push back the sea.

It takes a long time to get into the members admin bring up the details ban them, delete their post’s, get the isp and email and put them on the barred list.
Try doing 30 a day whilst you trade.
It’s all a waste of time anyhow as they come back next day with a new isp.

The team here do a great I hope it does not get on top of them,

It just my suggestion, will it be possible every post that being posted by members will comes with a function "report" which allow other members use that report send directly to forum administrator if a post were found to be a spam or those non related forex discussion/product (for example porn)?

Every post is coming with 'report' function.
And this report (if member will click on it and explain) will be sent automatically to every administrator and moderator. Reported post is the serious case discussed by admins and in most cases it is the reason to take the action.

For example, some member did 'bad' post.

- One member can send PM to me: "ND, can you look at this ... this guy is ...". In some cases this PM can not be a reason for any action against some post or member. Because PM is private tool.

- Member reported about bad post. In most of the cases it is official reason and in some cases it is sufficient reason for the action.

Usually we are not disclosing the usernames of the members who reported. Because no one will ask really about "I was banned so who reported about me to admins?". No one will ask because
- everybody can use this function;
- it is about reported post only. Just about one post or message inside one post and it is not about the situation in general;
- admins are reading all the posts on the forum
and
- it is the decision taken by admins.

I would like to say something here. I would like to say that you have a monumental task. I remember when you implemented the TSD calendar in 1 weekend. It's a wonder you have a life, a mind, or any fingers left.

It's a shame that that there are people that have nothing better to do than hack a professional website. I have the same problem with my sites.

That is why I detest Spammers and can spot them in a minute.

Thank you for your unending work on this Forum that makes it possible for traders to do what they do: Discuss FOREX.

What I hate is they keep signing up new members. I have a private board for personal friends, but these spammers just keep joining and registering new names. They can't even post on my board because I've disallow any new members without admin ok to post. Yet these robots are just registering new names, and I get 30 emails a day trying to get permission to join the site. Forget trying to ban email or ip, they are just generating them with a robot.

I can only imagine the nightmare trying to stop them with a public site like this.
