that I can attach indicators into other indicators, not just the price.

This is great, but my question is how can I actually code this?

In particular if I have an 8-period SMA and a 32-period SMA - with the SMAs being attached to an MACD not the price - then I'd like to know how I can code this crossover. Normally this would be no problem, but with the indicators being on the MACD not the price I just can't see how to do it. MT4 lets you display indicators on indicators, so surely you can code EAs using them too.

You need to write an indicator to do this. Use iCustom to populate an array with the MACD attribute you're interested in - probably 'MODE_MAIN'. Then use iMAOnArray to calculate its average.
