Listen me and listen me good.I`ve been trading with Oanda for 10 months. Oanda and all the metatrader brokers are MarketMakers. For those who don`t know what marketmaker means i will explain. The marketmaker does not execute your order on the real forex market. You play poker with them, but the only thing is that you don`t see your cards. Oanda executes orders from 1$. 1$x50 laverage = 50$ .There is no real broker that will execute order less then 1 lot( 1000$) on the floor market. Since they dont execute anything lets stop talking about hedging. Even more I was using a simple breakout system which seemed to be profitable for the previous 1 year on the backtests I`ve done. When i started trading it live with 100$ it proved its profitability. I was encouraged so I have put in the account 3000$ and started trading and guess what the miracle happened the system became looser. stopped for 1 point, opened limit order by sudden peak by the spread, wrong direction of the news and many other fortuitous events. Day after day I was loosing margin till the day I understood its not random. They have funds and use them to move the market so you can loose .If you dont believe me just remember what I told you and one day when you find profitable system you won`t wonder it is profitable on the demo account only. If you want to see a real broker here it is Forex Broker Dukascopy Suisse SA
minimum account 50000$

I would probably use Oanda if I'm concerned with safety of funds because they seems to be one of the largest and stable outfit. And the spread is very nice.

But IBFX and FXDD will be on my short list if I'm using MT4. Oanda would require you to build your own system and connect via their API.

Don't use IBFX. Recently one of our members had a long string of winning trades with IBFX (not scalping, but over 50 trades in 1 week, all winners ) and IBFX told him that their "system" had a problem and didn't honor any of his trades..!!? I've had similar problems with IBFX in the past. I had a string of about 30 (can't remember now, over 2 years ago) winning trades and they shut my account off. They told me that my "limit orders" were too close..?? lol... At least I got my money...

Be afraid, be very afraid...

Best MetaTrader Broker

Hello Everybody,

I am thinking about beginning to invest in the Forex Market, and have had some good experiences with the MetaTrader platform, and am hoping to use it whilst I trade. What is the consensus opinon as to the best metatrader compatiable brokerage?

Thanks,

Forexmachine

An 'honest Metatrader-supporting broker' is an oxymoron - the platform is free to us (whereas brokers pay $100,000, with re-occuring fees) for a reason, namely it is specifically designed to cheat its customers, and attracts the worst possible type of broker as a result! There is not a single MT-broker that could be rated as 'good' - if you are a good trader, they enable the many plugin features Metatrader has become infamous for, (stop-hunting, freezing, requotes etc.) and if this doesn't work for them, they will close your account and/or refuse to pay you. On the other hand, if you're crap at trading, you'll proabaly be allowed to lose your money to them 'honourably'...

Anyway you look at it, imo, Metatrader brokers have zero to offer except financial & emotional pain and suffering - best 'exploit' MT for its charting and signals but execute the actual trades through a 'respectable' broker...

That is why I always include 'IMO' in my posts, which is all it is!

I've seen Tradeview mentioned a few times now but there's been no real feedback from others yet. Following the Aleccohfx debacle, I am going to let others 'test the waters' this time instead, and am content to use MT for just signals for the timebeing. Having just checked Tradeviews site, there appears to be no FAQ - do you know what their position is on scalping?
