Here is what I can add:

ATC told me over the phone that they will have a currenex feed and fill through MT4 ready for testing in about three weeks. Min account 10K.

Dukascopy has an Agent-API through which you can execute orders from MT4. Easy to get up and running. I've been demoing for three weeks and for my systems it seems to be a liable solution (I don't trade news). However, you are relying on the datafeed from your MT4 brokerage. They will match nearly most of the time when there is not news. Your orders are one way--meaning MT4 can't fetch data on current orders. However, with some creative programming you can at least get it to count orders.

Here is my question to this thread: Dukascopy fills through Currenex, HotSpot and Lava--maybe more. Which MT4 broker would match the datafeed of Dukascopy most closely?

How to handle market execution with ECN broker?
I have a spread 0-3 pips on EUR/USD but I never gote
open position at 0.

I just want to update some new companies that provide ECN trading:

1) PFG
2) ATC
3) AMD
4) ODL
5) ChoiceFx

I've seen mt4 server API docs. it's not so hard to connect it to ECNs
why we don't see that yet? i don't know the real reason.

ECN brokers make their profits from commissions, not spread, so they would only love to see more clients brought there by such simple autotrading platform as metatrader .

but there is also other side of the wire - market makers. i think this is them who do not like big increase of autotraders. now the situation is that you have to invest quite a lot of efforts, time and money to setup your strategy to autotrade on ECN and this is a kind of limit of number of autotraders there.

anyway, this is only my guess.
all we have is a client terminal and we can play only with it.
and we can make a lot indeed.
it is possible to feed ECN quotes into metatrader, build charts on them, run indicators, experts and execute trade orders on ECN.

I have built currenex trading platform in .NET using quickfix. Besides manual execution it has a bridge to metatrader (or tradestation or any other software) for trade orders execution, all fully working on real accounts.
Feeding quotes into MT is not yet completed, as I didn't have a real demand for that yet, but I have clear knowledge how it can be made - period_converter script is an example of offline charts building, similar technique can be used to build charts from any datafeed. There are also other software products for ECN trading like strategy runner, ninjatrader, smartquant/openquant, rightedge and so on, but they all do not have a simplicity, that metatrader has, which we all like a lot.
on the other hand, if your reason to go to ECN is the execution speed, then you will have to build your trading box as a fully standalone app.

You don't really need this as FXCM has plans to offer MT4 platform beginning next year.
