what kind of problem? i think it's a question of propper setting up the MT4 server, if your feed is from server. otherwise just the proper programming of EA.

What I'm looking is link between 2 client trading stations,
as MT4 and ABC. On MT4 you can use EA's, on FXCM no.
do you want to autotrade specifically in FXCM?
as i said there are plenty of other places, much better than that, even with mt4
i could build MT4-FXCM bridge, but it would take quite some time and money

I wrote in my 1st post in this thread - I have built currenex trading platform in .NET using quickfix. Besides manual execution it has a bridge to metatrader (or tradestation or any other software) for trade orders execution, all fully working on real accounts. EAs work on MT datafeed and execute in parallel on currenex. FIX is a commonly used interface, so the software can be quite easily applied to any other broker/ECN offering FIX connectivity (with small adjustments for proprietary protocol extensions). Among features of the trading platform are scaled exits with different TPs, automatic takeprofit, stoploss orders, breakeven stop, trailing stop, straddle and reversed straddle orders with slippage control, auto- SL,TP,BE,TS orders.
If you have further interest, I think it will be better to move the discussion private as it will be offtopic here.

That's what I'm using. Getting MySQL and Python working with QuickFIX took literally 25 hours of compile time testing. I like some of the tools that they offer (vector and matrix) but I'd add a few more things like Support Vector Machines. PyML: a python machine learning framework has a very nice implementation that includes classification and regression.

I'm working on the platform quite a bit, working on the admin panel right now. Twisted library takes some getting used to.
Wov!
Dear Daraknor, you have so fresh look at the future.Would you be willing to develop a little bit more you concept regarding how to integrate the access to fair markets either to a retail broker or via presenting the individual trader as a kind of the solo enigma-trader who may trade directly with com.banks or whatsoever.
I can se that a bove picture may be in a bit naive way but in theory it coul,d be nicce to be your own trader so that to be qualified for swiming on your own.Your ideas about Python,Quick Fix engine and ECNs are great! Is it possible that you would depict things mentoned by you in a way as for guys who just entered this enormous in its potential world of new parameters trading.
Will highly appreciate that move of yours !\

Very interesting...

This is just the kind of thing I have been wondering about. Sorry programmers but I am a complete....., well, I don't really understand all this stuff.

Question.... I have an EA MT4 based and I am tired of hearnig bad luck stories and difficulties of keeping a profitable EA going on MT4 platforms. I do trade live/manually on OANDA (last few years, no complaints).

Sooo....is it possible to bridge/connect create a program that would exist on my computer and read the OANDA data and then autotrade using the MT4 system? So I guess something to read and plot OANDA data in a form the EA can understand and when the EA says enter a position, my computer enters the position as if I was there. OANDA api is $600/m and that's not worth it.

I think this is pretty close to what you guys are talking about is it not?
Anyway, thanks very much and hope to hear your thoughts.

Don.

Don,
it is possible
if you really need it, then you should hire a programmer
but this work will cost above $1000, plus Oanda API fees

I could probably set up an EA to Oanda bridge in a few weeks. I know how to do it pretty easily since I have a ton of networking code integrated with MT4. That is fairly easy to do, but I consider it a distraction.

I'm flying to Houston on Thursday, a trading group is almost certainly going to sponsor myself and a team to write a new ECN bridge from MT4 server to the clients. After doing this we should have most of a decent system to trade using Python directly into any ECN or bank. The Currenex bridge is crap, we're getting about 17% slippage using it and it fails horribly and stops doing TP, SL, pending and manual trades. Uber fail.

For people who don't want to rewrite everything in Python, we might have a white label setup with the trading group allowing people to trade their EA and MT4 clients on ECN. I know the trading group wants at least 3 ECN connections, so you should have a big choice of places to trade. I don't know if we'll be able to white label, but I'm fairly confident we'll have something working soon.

P.S. I finally have a Great EA. I'm the only indicator used, it does about 80% of the work. Thankfully I only need to check it a few times a week it appears.
