Sorry, a misunderstanding. I was subscribed to eSignal when I mainly traded stocks, it was my only price-feed to Wealthlab - Yahoo quotes had a 20min delay, and my broker then was Ameritrade, whose feed I had no way of accessing...

That said, it is possible to use IB prices for charting via the 'TWSlink' API but there is a lot of work involved (use 'offline' charts). Unfortunately, the API does not yet support historical quotes downloads, but its creator promises that this will be a reality eventually.

The inflexibility of the available timeframes in MT has had me considering something along these lines lately - being stuck with scalping M1 charts, when tick or volume charts are standard fare in almost every charting s/f these days just doesn't cut it...

If you're thinking of using the WHC platform for short term trading...don't.

The WHC platform freezes for 1 to a few seconds several times a minute 24 hrs. a day all week.

An exaggeration - I have the WHC platform up 24/5 and whereas up to a few months ago I never experienced any freezing tactics in play, this is now a regular anti-trader feature - but only when the volatility exceeds a certain threshold (ie newstime)...

For weeks now if I run a cursor back and forth over a chart it is sure to freeze a few times a minute every time I try.

I have a few other platforms that never do this.

I just checked the platform and no more freezing!!!

but the commission makes micro-trades useless

In fact the amount of commission is too high for small trades

In fact I would say just the opposite. If you take their commission rate at the micro level its far more manageable than it is at the full size.

No matter what the size it works out to roughly double the real spread on the open market. However since you can trade any size regardless of how small, its not so bad a cost to play and trade at a size where emotion and risk is almost a nil factor.

With that said, I have yet to open a live account however I have been demoing their platform for months and months. And really appreciate the free futures quotes. If they could get an English speaking IB who isn't a complete jerk (fasttradeonline, no thanks) I would have already signed up by now.

How are these guys promising? They don't even have slippage control. What kind of crap is that?

with mt4 you have 3 types of execution, so it depends on the broker itself

WHC offers Market Execution which means when u click Buy or Sell you'll filled 100% no reqouta.

But the problem with "Market Execution" if the broker flag your account our put you in manual execution and u clicked buy or sell "Broker can delay execution"
and fills you at the worst Price possible.

i remember i have a friend get like 65pip slippage before coz execution was 25 seconds.

Broker that offer market exeuction: whc, varengoldbankfx.

but overall whc good broker, but they have lack of support ! hope they improve it.
