If you are referring to the broad range of symbols they offer on the demo platform then I agree with you.

But if you are referring to the reliability of their data feed .. then they are absolutely the worst mt4 demo site. Everytime their feed goes down all my other demo mt4 brokers are still working without any problems.

WHC / FXEgypt server setup comparison

WHC has no MODE_LOTSIZE set, while FXEgypt has it. (at least WHC includes it in symbol explanation).
Both lack MODE_EXPIRATION. Would FXEgypt have continuous futures or is it just a lack?

I have just remembered what I really hate about WHC - after spending about 2 hours searching for a non-existent bug in my code!!!

WHC will not allow an EA to set stops on an order being sent - you must first place the order and then use the 'Modify' command to set the Stops.

This is damn annoying at best and arguably unethical, even dishonest. At least on my demo account there is no error messages being displayed in the 'Journal' window so the only way to detect if trades are not being placed is to use the GetError() function.

This is one silly restriction which should really be the only reason anyone would need for not signing up with them...

PS I know that this 'problem' was alluded to at the beginning of this thread (just remembered) - that doesn't make it right!

I just wanted to confirm something.
On WHC, the cost to trade one single YM contract is $25, but each point movement is only $5. So the YM needs to move at 5 points to break even.
Is that supposed to be correct?

Correct. Their futures commissions are... 'uncompetitive' - to say the least.

You can trade 1 contract with InteractiveBrokers for a little over $4 - and that's RT as well. For a laugh I compared WHC most expensive futures contract (mini Natural Gas) with IB.

WHC quote $70, IB RT rate is 3.36...

Beyond ridiculous!!!

Are you using their charting to trade futures?

WHC is a foreign IB for TransAct and Mann Financial. That would be one of the reasons for the higher commission. Yes, it is a hefty commission but I still manage to squeeze between $250-$500 net of commission per overnite Euro session on YM and ER2. However, I do all my U.S. daytrading eminis with PFG and AMP.

ENJOY!

Not sure if that is addressed at me but no, I use MT to alert me to enteries and IB's TWS for trading. Personally I think IB's charting sucks. It's a manual setup that will have to do for now.

While you're around, could you comment on WHC's policy on Stops - ie. why do they not allow stops to be set during order execution? It really bugs me...

Probably, didn't play with it. For example mini Nymex Oil needs to be traded 20 with a times more volume to equl Nymex Oil pipsize. Commission is 3 times bigger, and multiplied by 20, its 60 times bigger...so I guess you're right.
