I was reading about quantum computing, zero energy processing, and how in 2020 I can buy the equivalent of a human brain in processing for $1000. This is rather geeky.

Also 1 out of every 10 million calculations on a computer is an error. 1:10^10 is the acceptable "everything is fine" value. CPUs are sold at different speeds because slowing them down makes the error rates within acceptable limits. There may have been a 1 calculation glitch that threw off a floating point calculation. That would be an "instant price hike" followed by a correction.

There was a company I taught Linux to, they used 3 processors and "voted" on the correct answer. 3 votes that didn't elect a right answer was thrown back for recalculation. The processor error rate was then reduced to a *very* small number, instead of the standard rate. See http://www.cs.utah.edu/classes/cs794...pers/error.pdf if you want to see how likely errors actually are. Kinda scary.

I emailed Chris, the author of this very informative article: http://tradesight.com/wordpress/?p=46 asking how I can tell if a broker has a dealing desk. He said if they have [fixed] spreads, they have a dealing desk. http://mbtrading.com/fx/ was the broker he recommended, and he has a relationship with their company. MBTrading FX gives you the ability to profit on as little as 1 pip market movements. You also get to see Big Bank volume, not just Broker volume.

I consider Metaquotes to be a prototyping system really When I get serious all of my trading systems will be DLLs running under both MQ and the MBT SDK.

Both are good brokers with good and bad points between them. The thing you should be thinking about is how much you plan to deposit. Less than $2k? Your only real choice there would be IBFX.
My preference though is NF as I like to trade futures as well as forex.

I would like to trade live with Interbank FX
but too bad, they dont handle any deposit from e-gold, only wire transfer

North FInance once I heard too many disconnect, and it wont be good if you are in the middle of trading.

any other comment?

thanks...

hi to all

thanks to all the ppl for giving your feed backs on my query......after reading so many threads i came to the conclusion that its better to open live a/c with brokers who deal directly and doesnt hae a dealing desk.......but direct brokers offer maximum 100:1 leverage only.......i needed a broker who can atleast give 200:1 leverage for my strategy to work...

by the way i am wondering why can't they give option to trade only with stop losses with out linking to leverage..

for eg i have 100 dollars in my a/c ,and i want to place order for 5 mini lots with 20 pips stop loss....i'am waiting forex market to evolve to give that option ,option to place order only with stop losses....

shwetha

Back on the IBFX topic.

IBFX operates a dealing desk like all MT4 brokers . As said before these days, a dealing desk is usually a software tool.
When asked, they will talk arround the issue. I've been using them for a few months now and I'm closing out. Not because of dealing desk but I didn't receive my swaps for the 3rd time in a few weeks. Last time it took a week for my account to be credited with the missing swaps.
As I'm using this account for carry trades, I can't have any more of this non-sense and will find another place for these funds. Perhaps this is their way of trying to get rid of a profitable trader
I never had problems with re-quotes or slippage, although I saw many complaints about that, but that probably has to do with my trading style. Anyway, I'm taking my money out and leave a small amount for some experimental directional trades and EA's I'm working on.
