I used to get angry with ibfx because of the widening spreads until I changed my thinking, now when I see a widening spread I know that 80% of the time it is because it is around a support or resistance level I may have overlooked and I get to work very fast to take advantage of it, change your thinking on this one a bit and you will see how it is possible to profit from the casino type shift at wide spread time, maybe someone has already made a spread alert here.

The brokers would not widen a spread if there was no advantage to be gained, use it against them for your gain, it will also convert your anger into a strategy and you will start to look forward to these free signals that the low IQ brokers leave lying around.

Some advice, I lost my whole trading account to Todd Snively at Futurewise Trading in 2002 (for which he is still doing 10 years prison time(CFTC)) along with 1400 other clients, turns out he was a bucketshop just like ibfx and fxcm, do not ever put too much cash with these guys, if they really were honest they would not be involved in bucketshops but we all have to start somewhere just like Jesse Livermore did with bucketshops, I would believe what the ex employees in this forum have to say, be very careful.

i really appreciate the positive insight. i remain optimistic that we will find ways to successful handle our opponents. i am probably not clever enough to figure out a way to use widening spreads as an entry signal, but will keep my eye on it and try to learn.

i contacted fxpro and asked about widening spreads. Their response was, "Usually we increase the spread up to 5 pips important news time release like GDP, NFP, Interest Rate." Looked at the demo for EFX, don't believe i can use it comfortably.

I started making money at IBFX. Now I get an email telling me I have to move to a new server.

I'm suspicious. And the old server is bad enough already.

Did anyone else get the same email, and is that account in profit / loss / dormant (asleep)?

Not to worry. two month back i am shifted to new server. no problem it's working fine. seems they are shifting in batches to distribute server load

Can anybody give me or guide to where an audible alert for this instance of "widening spread moments" from the most excellent quote below? I think I know how to make money from this as I have been watching this. I will share as I have always done IF I can figure it out, as I will not waste your time.

Hint: at the moment in question there will be a break to the long or the short side where the dealer gains his position value from his skewed fills. Your job is to put a spread of buys and sells above and below the zone. Make sure your exits are 90 seconds long and I may need to delete this post as this may be considered "naughty" trading ☺.
