i'm not particullarly farmilliar with velocity4x, but everyone has their own idea of what a broker should have.

one thing i like to make sure is that the broker isn't offering any education in how to trade, such an organization is untrustworthy and could be after makeing you loose. another issue with some brokers is the swap ratio. the number of pips between the bid and the ask, (this is where the broker makes his/her money). some brokers change the swap ratio, (or as i've learned it, the "spread").

if you want to know about if you can trust a broker or not, ask them about theese things, or anything else you expect, or don't expect, in a broker.

No!!!

Hamilton Williams LLC operating under Velocity4x is way too short on the net capital requirements of the NFA ...

I trade through velocity4x. I've been with them for two months. Moved from FXDD. They have good feedback on forexbastards com. They are a young broker and have some growing problems: service is really understaffed, they can open or close orders on your phone request 24 hour, but technical staff doesn't work at nights. Before last week I never experienced slippages and requotes with them but last three days I had a lot of them execution was rocket fast, basicaly the fastest I've seen, but again since three days ago it became unbearable slow. They said that they moved to a new hardware, so I hope it's temporary problems. I can live with crappy service, but my EA requires good execution. And if they don't solve the problem asap I'll move. Overall I wouldn't recomend them untill they solve technical problems. But hope it was just a bad week. And I will be able to recomend them already on Monday.

As for net capital. I think it doesn't tell anything. They don't have a dealing desk, so they don't hedge your trades with their money, as IBFX they pass your orders to a liquidity provider, I believe it's fxlq. And they are NFA regulated unlike many of the brokers. And I think that Refco case showed that having a huge net capital is not a garantee you won't loose money.

Thanks for all of your advices.
Now I trade through Velocity4x, and this week, I got some trouble with their server : froze, disconnect..and when I order, sometimes it stated : the Trade is in busy context..

I asked them, and they answered because they were upgrading new server.. Hope it will be better next week.

http://www.cftc.gov/files/tm/fcm/tmfcmdata0607.pdf
http://www.cftc.gov/files/tm/fcm/tmfcmdata0608.pdf

In page 2, I saw Hamilton William LLC, and the net capital was negative , so I have some worries about that ? Is it ok or not ? Anyone can give me any furhter information ?

FXLQ is their Provider , so is it safe for my account ? if there are any complaints, they should be addressed to FXLQ ?

In funding instruction, I read this :

Beneficiary: Hamilton Williams LLC
Account Name:Hamilton Williams LLC Customer Funds Account
Account # 0028 7485 9618

They said "Customer funds are kept in an entirely separate bank account from any company operating funds, thus prohibiting any activity other than client trading to occur in those accounts" but If Beneficiary is Hamilton Williams LLC, so can they control our account ? Is it safe or not ?

And if Velocity4x bankrupt, what should we do ? where and who we can contact to get back money from account ?

Thanks for your help.

Megaforex,

I think you should not worry about NET Capital. It's less than required 1M$ but I think it's ok otherwise they would have been fined by NFA. Look at the IBFX case:

http://www.nfa.futures.org/basicnet/Case.aspx?entityid=0326091&case=06BCC00016&contrib =NFA.

Also look at the Net Capital of FXCM and they are much larger broker than velocity. I think that brokers just can't go bankrupt they always win, only scalping can cause loss. And most brokers prohibit it.
Moreover, velocity, as I said, don't hedge your position, they pass it to fxlq. So, they only have their spread and that's all. You should more worry for fxql health.
I am more worried about the technical problem, Gary promissed to fix it, I hope they do. I lost already about 100$ on slippages last week, don't want it to continue.

Talked with them today and they were having data feed problems into a server or the server was having problems handling the feed. They added and updated the server and were switching customers over.
