Same here... I have an account with NF, actually they are really interesting brokerage.

They have one of the most interesting conditions... high leverage(you can use any, but up to 1:500), low spreads.

Also i liked the thing with free visa card. Great job done by NF! But mostly I trade with Westrn Capital Forex S.A.

i been running a demo with them for 4 months now and live since Xmas. Yes its a very short time but already passed the most crucial test that most brokers cant support........NFP yep it worked almost perfectly they went off line after the move for about 35 seconds but stop orders, fills entered prior to this worked 100% no slippage at all and spreads rigid 2 pips since Xmas day. In fact going over 2 pips on euro 3 pips cable is an extreme rare event not on every sunday an every bit of news like Oanda and others. Oanda, GAIN. IBFX, FXDD FXCM CMC etc non of these can keep spreads low and fill correctly on NFP so i give them 8 out of 10 today. Im a scalper with them i trade 15 pips most of the time and they dont complain. Always filled within 3 seconds normally 2 seconds from when the EA shouts. These times can be seen in journal log.

The customer service is excellent there is nearly always someone on website help chat or on the phone.

Dont be alarmed by the offshore stuff its a perfectly legal structure to use Panama or Belize IBC's for tax reasons and not to screw customers. They have a decent size Chinese, South American Spanish client base also and almost every blue print US company has an offshore entity for tax reasons. Becuase they are offshore they dont have to comply to US laws either not that it means anything whatosover. Most brokers in the NJ triangle are the biggest crooks in the world! I know i tried most of them over the last 5 years.

They have 6 Live servers global so you wont see this on demo. Live uptime is much better then demo so dont compare. It not perfect but i hear a timeout for a couple seconds about once a day although this is often just switching between servers for better latency.

Anway so far so good but if you want to be bled to death slowly with most well known US brokers then dont bother changing.

Scalps are not based on time there is no way to control that. If i sell looking for 10 pips it can be filled in 5 seconds or 50 hours who knows. Typically i make about 3 trades over 24 hours for average 15 pips each so 45 pips a day but somedays might just be one trade others 10 times within 4 hours it depends on the market.

I would find it hard to believe someone would close a trade based on time just becuase the 10 pips was not filled nor the stop loss hit.

So far they dont mind my style of trading i think they would get upset if you was going for 2 pips into profit and cashing in and do this 20 times a day. If you want to trade like that then you need an ECN broker like Hotspot.

I am currently at IBFX with Metatrader4...I would like to try a demo at Northfinance(they offer crude oil and emini S&P) but I didn't want to download MT4 again because I have a lot of custom indicators on my current version now that I want to try on the crude oil and emini S&P markets.

I have tried contacting support at Northfinance but they have not been any help so i am turning to the wisdom of my forum brothers.

I just want to demo Northfinance but keep MY version of MT4 to do so.

The easiest thing will be to download their version and install it. Make sure it is in another directory and make a note of it.

Now go to windows explorer, and navigate to the directory of the IBFX version of MT. Go to experts and then indicators. Copy the indicators you want to test, and then go to the NF directory, experts, and then indicators. Copy those there.

Now you are ready to face the brave new world of trading oil

you're gonna need to download their platform to open a new demo account with them. once everything is done, you can use your IBFX platform to login to north finance data feed with the earlier created demo account detail, so you dont need to resetup your indicators. put in the login number, password, and paste the server address at the server column at your IBFX login. hereby provide you with demo server address.

Thanks for your help...I successfully setup my Northfinance demo...however, There are no oil or emini S&P data for me to test my indicators on

This is weird because I told my brother to get a NF demo account so he could use their futures and index charts. But he created a demo account today and he doesn't have the indexes or futures to select from even though I do on my NF demo account.
Do they not offer them on newly created accounts now or something?
