I have seen this very same thing... I trade sometimes with a group and we trade the spike... Many times the people that were on EFX/MB trading didn't get filled and a few times I made 30 or more pips and they lost money because the price gapped up and they were filled at the top.

That being said I have never personally used them so this isn't 100%, but I have seen screen shots of people in our group that lost money on the same trades I profited from.

I will be following this thread as I haven't been able to find a great broker that uses the MT platform that is good for News spikes.

Details appreciated

I think any broker offering tight spreads and guarateed quote filling during news times would be driven bancrupt in no time.

And trading today with a 'best' broker who is bancrupt tomorrow, that doesn't make sense to me.

So for me it's ok when they widen their spreads a little bit as long as it's not too much and coming back soon.

More important than fixed spreads seems to me that my orders are filled immediately at the quoted price.

So what i look for is a broker offering limited spread and filling my orders at news times immediately with small slippage.

I would appreciate your practical experience in detail:

<NameOfBroker>,
<DateTimeOfTrade>,
<TimeSpanOfOrderExecution>,
<Slippage>,
<maxSpread>,
<TimeSpanTillSpreadComesBack>
<LotSize>

Hi mmccormac,
I would be interested to hear which broker was filling your orders at news time spikes.

Regards Martin

PS:
Re Futures und CME-Equivalents (http://www.cme.com/trading/dta/real/eqivalents4042.html)
I found that CME calculation is sometimes wrong as they use false foreward points (=Future premium).
So before using their results you should control at normal trading time (without spikes) that the resulting data are within Forex Broker Spot Spreads.
If CME result is not within Spot Spread (in normal trading time) you have to correct their +- forward points.
Simply type a plus or minus forward point number, which shifts results into Spot Spread, into the box below the equivalent number and you can use their results during news times to find arbitrage opportunities.

I have made some test to propfx platform (fxcm and currenex)

Exelent speed/execution, 1 pip commission.
Min to open acc 10k, higher leverage.

But the platform in too complicated. If you want to trade the news you would be in troubles.
Because open a trade and set the SL en TP takes a while. Buy and sell only is faster.
Off course, you can play with opposite trade to manage SL and TP, but I donīt like this way.

You can't trade news with WHC. They just fill you at the end of the spike. That's not slippage, that's only making customer loose.
For reviews, here's the link of their own forum:

Has anyone not been getting correct fills during news time with northfinance. I've gotten filled at the very tip of the candle on both recent uk cpi and us gdp releases?

Thats probably because you are using an autoclick which is sending a market order right after news spike. And by the time your autoclick executes, the price has already spiked and it's too late.

No i'm using the amazing ea 1.8 and it worked perfectly several times before. It adds my pending orders 5 min before the announcement and trails the high/low price with my adjusted pips away right before the release.

What you need to find out is at what price did the EA place your order right before it was executed. Only then you will know whether it was slippage at NF or whether your EA malfunctioned.
