The NFA look like they are intent on closing down as many brokers as possible, how many will be left that still offer the MT4 platform and what is going to happen to all the Expert Advisors then?
All the guys on this forum who have spent years developing ... will it all go to waste?
Just playing Devils Advocate here, but would welcome opinions

It would cause a bit of slight inconvenience, but thats about all. The programming language is practically C, so its relatively easy to re implement.
Closure wont happen overnight. There are probably over 100 brokers using MT4 and they'll go for the weaker firms first, if people really want to use MT4 EA's they'll be forced to move accounts, and only the strongest will survive.
Metaquotes may need to look at different means of funding, but they have a competitive product, and they should survive.
Anyone's who's involved with software development will be used to constant changes in programming languages, operating systems, hardware etc, its no big deal.

Post moved to correspondent thread and my opinion is MT4 is establishing as standard for trading platforms at least for forex market.
World is too big and NFA could see only for US brokers. Different countries have different regulations, in some cases better than NFA.
In fact, today London Stock Market is winning to NYSE believe it or not.
If you´re concerned about US brokers only there are a couple of things to watch and big broker houses.
FXCM is ready to implement MT4 as platform. Forex.com, maybe. Rosenthal Collins Group just launched their MT4 site and I can keep writing facts.
Don't worry. MT4 is here and will stay for a long time between brokers.
In addition to RCG/TradeviewFX, FOREX.com and FXCM are also coming out with their MT4 platform. We are also currently beta testing the FOREX.com which has eSignal data feed. This one has the 3 digit.
ENJOY!

fxcruiser,
Do you know something about this broker data feed? By spreads seems not be ECN but the data feed it looks like coming from a market like CBOE or something. OR, they have too many problems with service.
Due to ECNs do not support MT4(any guy have search which ECNs are propose to have MT4 connectivity ?), I would like to search other brokers which offer high leverage, low spread, tight spread on news effect.

lol the NFA don't rule the world, in all honesty the NFA is crap the best is like the FSA in the UK far stricter and much much more insurance, companies like Alpari and ActivTrades are bound by them. The NFA don't rule the world you know..lol
I have been with IBFX for the last 3 years and honestly here lately I’m getting sick of there I don’t care about our clients opinion attitude… so now I have decided to move my money elsewhere.
I am a news trader so I need a broker with fast execution and little to no slippage, I would like low stable spreads (I understand a little spread widen but not the 10-20 spike spread that IBFX does) if the price I have to pay to use my auto click means paying 5 to 15% commission with no spread then so be it, I do place about 3-4 trades a day without news so I’m not all about news, I need the broker to allow (or have) some kind of Manage Take Profit software and allow my open positions to be closed a little at a time if needed.
I don’t know if this helps in getting a better broker but my initial deposit will be 5-10 thousand.
I would not rate IBFX as a scam but they are sure as heck getting close… who ever they teamed up with in this last year is going to run IBFX into the ground within the next 5 years. I get re-quoted getting into and now getting OUT OF my trades! And now they are widening there spreads even more on non news events.
Im sick of it and I just really need your guys help in finding a broker. this is my only income
