after reading this WHOLE (what a work that was) thread, I've come to a decision, that northfinance is an awesome broker. Unfortunately, this lasted only until I opened their website (www.northfinance.com). It looks very unprofessional to start with, but live account opening conditions and user agreement did it. I opened live account without submitting any proven information (e.g. copy of passport, drivers licence, etc), just by filling out a web form. User agreement contains TONS of errors, typos, no word said about security of funds, will it be kept in a segregated account or not. All agreement pretty much consists of definitions of terms, things NF is not responsible for and user liabilities. Well, after opening live acc with Oanda, this one looks like some stupid bandit decided to try his luck in online scam scheme. I am really surprised to read some people are actually trading with them with no problems. Well, at least I don't have enough money to give them a try now. I think I will go with FXDD - they are not a candy too, but at least made an effort to look like real business.

I'm very glad that you can judge the brokerage, not even trading with it...
1. You can NOT activate account without sending them your passport/ID copy AND utilty bill/bank statement
2. I had a look at the agreement, and did not find any mistakes
3. They have SEGREGATED accounts, it is written on their web page
4. Please do not call ANY brokerage scam, unless u've test it, and please provide at leat one good reason/proof of your words. I have never ever heard that NF did not pay...
5. Yes in this forum, a HUGE number of ppl trade with NF, I'am one of them by the way... all my frieds are with NF too...
6. You can use any broker u want, i have a friend who used to have an account with FXDD, guess which brokerage he uses now...

P.S. I find it really funny, as u have said that alot of ppl say that NF is a very good brokerage, and suddenly there is a guy with one post, who did not even trade with NF says that they are bad. Mate, of course i will believe you

I use Western Capital Forex S.A.(Swiss). They are very good at customer support, and they use MT4! No slippage at all...

I was wondering why the NF reps were making an alliance with a rep from another broker (Western ...) and were floading the threads (at least 3 of them) with their usual promotion messages (I know it's soon Christmas but we get enough promotional ads anyway).

So I did a little search (10 minutes) and I found something funny.
You can check yourself. Goes to the Western ... site , click contact, and then contact an IB on the left and check the mail address. it ends by fxteam.ru
Then go to NF main page. At the bottom their are several email addresses and one ends by fxteam.ru

What a coincidence. Judge by yourself !

Anyway I would recommend to people when they get advice on brokers to check the mail history of the person who wrote the message. If 80 or 90% of his messages were to promote a broker then the objective of his presence in the forum is quite clear.

So now I will let these 2 guys (or maybe they will also send some other NF guys) answer and flame me and say how their broker is beautiful. Anyway that is of no importance. At least you will have my little contribution to be able to make your own opinion and to chose whoever you want. Good luck !

I spoke with Velocity4x over the phone for a little while. They didn't directly say so, but I'm fairly certain Velocity4x is just a white label for FXLQ. FXLQ, IBFX and FXSol are likely their liquidity partners which they call "banks" but are just other brokers.

Velocity4x claims they pass through all of the trades, they have no dealing desk. I asked a little more, they claim to not even have any servers - just an agreement to provide services. I asked what sort of agreement, and explained a few application server agreements from businesses that host applications (I have a background in this area). The poor guy I was talking to said they didn't have any servers and the liquidity provider has all of their equipment. Presumably, they also have the software license and control over the spreads as well... When I asked what agreement Velocity4x had with Robert Gray, they stopped returning my phone calls and emails. (I sent 3.)

FXLQ and IBFX have horrible jumping spreads, see the broker thread post #666 for a graph. IBFX claims it is the market, but the market did not go from 3 pip to 10 pip spreads over a dozen times in the hour.

Yes, was curious that FXLQ.com & Velocity4x.com share same pip spreads.

in the post 666 I see that IBFX has jumping spread but I don't see FXLQ. Do you mean that they have the same spreads. I don't think they are related, are they?

See the difference between MWH and IBFX ticks on today's data @ 13:30.

IBFX demo and my real account ticks are 99.9% the same.
