By the way, MT4 platform still have some difference. Companies employed different MT version. Different data sources and dealing desk will affect MT platform execution and speed. Fixed or flexible spread also caused different performance.

Yes they are sometimes a lot of discrepencies between Mt4 platform from different brokers.

For example, I am testing an EA with the same settings and currencies on 2 different brokers:

- The trades are different. Sometimes they trade the same currencies with a difference in timing...sometimes they trade different currencies.

- On 1 broker the EA is making around 200 pips profit and on the other one it's loosing around 200 pips...That's 400 pips difference!


To add to the confusion, it seems that with some brokers, demo & real accounts have different feeds. It kind of blows any confidence we might have in the performance of an EA that was succesful in a demo account.

Unfortunately, that appears to be the case for several brokers. So, likely best to put together on a demo, and then do some testing on a live account for comparison, with as small a lot size as is practical. I'm also curious - has anyone run into a situation where timing is different for lot sizes? (small/large trades) - While I don't KNOW if it is, I suspect that it MIGHT be, possibly due to the broker possibly having to 'hedge' (or something similar) on larger trades. Just guessing on some points here.

I personally spoke to Ryan Nettles (Managing Director, USA) at Tradex and his Sales rep, one of those "All day long" types, which put me in sceptic mode. Tradex still has to manually hedge all of it's positions with their LP thru their dealing desk. If your trades are less than three minutes in RT duration, and you are profitable.... don't count on trading there long. There is only a couple of "fair trading environments" available for scalpers and metatrader...

Hmm. I have been trading live with forexua.com for some days now. I get requoted all the time on instant/market orders.

Do you know if it is normal to get requoted on limit orders or takeproft and hard stops?(With any MT4 broker).

I set my expert on max 3 pips slip. And I get the price 3 pips away from the requested price almost every time. (It is in the quiet trading hours).

The live and demo feed is the same server. So I run the EA on demo and live but there is so much difference on the result. Because of the requotes. hmm

Does anyone know if it will help to make limit orders to get the right price or does it not matter?
