you tell about innovation and fucntionality expansion, but it is new just for metatrader...
there are platforms which have these functions for a long time (market depth, tester...) there is even platform which support your languages mql2, mql4 (ProTrader), but it also has a debugger for mql!
I never thought of using another platform for mql4 (silly me!) - and this beauty has connections to multiple ECN brokers including IB!
Well Mr Lenar, that is just the right way to kill automatic trading. Auto trading is "stupid" (in the sense that an Ea will never have the same market "feeling" a uman trader can have and develop through experience) and thus very volatile. As I have said many times, the only way to reach a profitable auto trading is to have a basket of ea with different approach to the market, on different timeframes, and different pairs. This approach is not a "get rich in a night" holy grail, but can make money consistently over time.
We`ve changed the trading system to make MetaTrader 5 compatible with other markets, where such system is a standard. Please keep in mind that MetaTrader 5 allows working on the much wider range of markets, than MetaTrader 4. And that was a reason to rewrite the trading system totally.
Or I will keep moving from to too small to too big in stop motion
hmm... what do you mean?
Zoom system works as before, by steps. At the same time, there is an additional zoom mode, allowing to use Gann tools correctly. Now you can set a ratio between date (X axis) and price (Y axis) manually.
Don't mean to nag, but :
Every program has it's problems. Normal assumption is that when a man sees something new he also thinks that it has no errors. But...
So far I haven't found a program without errors (just remembered Windows)
Not just that, but I leave you find out
As I said, don't want to nag. And I am certainly not going to make conclusions based on a couple of hours usage of some program.

Yes, we need more time to study it.
But the management orders is much more ergonomic than the TWS, and that suits me very well
I will implement my trading systems, and will follow the differences with standard metatrader.
For the moment, orders works great, just made 46 p on gy
To tell you truth, i was thinking about to close my account with IB, because of their trading soft, i have 2 others account (only ECN, not shit of mt brokers anymore ), and i was thinking "doh 2 accounts is enough, i will delete the worst platform".
But you know, i wanted to keep IB because of their incredibly serious. So i was in trouble, but now my point of vue has changed.
But we should stop talking anymore of protrader, we are destroying the originally thread which was about mq5.

Sure. I'll add my comment.
The new language is going to drive people away. I'm not sayint at all that mql4 was perfect - far from it but if you are going to take backwards compatibility away then I'll probably move away from metatrader (have been pondering about this a long time) because I really, really don't want to program all my code again with different language everytime metatrader folks decide to change it. And note that I'm a long time tech guy, I know my erlang, java, c++, lisp, ocaml, php, ruby, python and couple of other languages so this is not about inability to learn new languages. I just don't want to do it because developers suddenly change language whenever they want to.
As they have made this decision they are not probably going to listen to me but if they would want to please people who are interested in automated techniques then they would offer external api for a language that already exists. It really doesn't matter what the language is, c/++, java, c# or whatever else - these are production level languages that have lots of brain power behind them. There are virtual machines that are very, very effective so there would be no need to create own compilers and runtimes, all effort could be made to create a slick api.
I have never undestood why people at metaquotes (and many other places) have decided to go with their own language and not used the long time both academic and industry research that has been made to create languages like the ones I already mentioned.
Me, I'll probably use mt4 as long as my broker allows and simultaneously work to create a FIX version of my algos.
