HI

I am new to metatrader 4 and have downloaded and tried to backtest heaps of EA's on the EUR/USD ... all produce negative results so I am assuming it is me and not the systems.

What am I doing wrong! I have time period set to 1 day, model to open price, and using default timeframe.

I have fiddled with all the options but although it changes, I never get any real profit and usually lose all the money quickly.

It can't be that hard can it?

If someone can point me in the right direction, that would be great...

Please post which EAs you have used, maybe I have tested it before...

It's real hard, witness the MQL trading competition results, though the serious players were probably put off by the requirment to send in the EA.
If you want to be pointed in the right direction, forget indicators.

I appreciate that it isn't a walk in the park to make millions overnight but there must be some solid systems that regularly turn reasonable, slow profits.

Can anyone suggest an EA I could try and some dates to test it over so I can see if I can get the backtesting module working properly?
