EA on central server with shell

Is anybody using an EA that gets its signals from a central server? I want to release my EA to clients, but not the code. And I know there's a way to do that where the client-user has a shell EA that receives signals from the main EA that runs on a server.

Is anybody currently running this scenario or getting signals like this? I'd like to hear about your experiences. Thanks.

Forex Calendar receives data from a server and displays that data on chart.

Same way could be applied to distribute signals. I´m not sure about the how.

Maybe you need to need two things. An indicator as interpreter of the received data and some EA as interpreter of the indicator.

The way we do it , is we have a central server that is polled by the client EA/DLL every 250 ms. Its gets its jobs from the server. The only code on the client side is a dispatch shell.

BUT, if you are going to go this route, why not use an ECN type broker, and get better service? Eliminate the EA all together on the Client side..

We looked at this, but it will only work on the same machine. We decided to write our own as we wanted to transmit our EA signals across the country.
Its been a lot of work, but been worth it.

Wow, so you're basically saying your team is a pioneer in this field? I'm very impressed Ghamm.

the easiest way would be to rent a vps, get an account at collective2 and market your system to your clients, then they can have it autotraded (for certain brokers only), and you can let your system trade automatically via athe link between MetaTrader and their site, just check the website: I've been with them since a couple of weeks: Collective2 - The Trading System Authority and my system is Trading System: Aggressive Alpha (I have no interest in the site, I'm just a user but I like it a lot).

Perhaps he wants to cut out the middleman, and not have to pay collective2 to use their system.

Exactly. More control, more power.
