I can't backtest with good quality. downloading alpari 1m eurusd and I see alot of gaps during the backtest. E.g from January 1 runns trhough 28th and then jumps to March not 29th of January. So Alpari's data isn't reliable?
I have found this error on Alpari. The only explaination I can surmise is that Alpari doesn't allow initial lots below .1 but does allow increases in the .01 after that, i.e: .1, .11, .12 and so on.
FXCM is the same way. You need to find a broker that allow micro trading down to the .01 lot initially both on micro accounts and standard accounts. FXDD and IBFX are two that come to mind.
Iron,
I think it is a problem with 5 decimal brokers. I am using Forex.com (also uses 5 decimals) and the EA works fine on the D1 charts but fails on the H4 pairs. On the D1 pairs, it trades initially just fine starting at .01 lots. So they do trade down to .01 lots, just the EA will not trade those two for some reason.
However, I don't think it is a broker issue as much as a timeframe issue. Not sure why works fine on D1 timeframes and not on H4 timeframes.

The odd thing is that the piplite 1.4 EA works fine on 1 hour charts as does the daily blessing 2 on daily charts so I think it may be a coding issue..
Can someone please post a setfile that works on a 5 digit standard broker. I've been through the docs, but cannot get a Tradeview account to open trades. Anyone here with Tradeview? Thanks
Use the 4 decimal broker settings then go into the initial settings menu and change broker decimal from 1 to 10.
Happy Trading

Thankyou, Iron, for what appears to be a very successful EA on InterbankFX. Please can you advise me what I have to do to get the EA to work with these other brokers. I have altered the 4 to 5 decimal broker setting where necessary.
I like to reserve opinions and trading preferences until I have forward-traded a method for a while and can determine if it is comfortable.
As you know I cannot tolerate to high of a drawdown and still come to these martingale/grid/hedging threads. I really do not know why....I think its just that indicator based EA's work for a while and then stop working...thus I am drawn to these threads.
Just because there is equity protection does not reduce the drawdown in this EA. It just makes backtests survivable and it might report better DD. There are long uncomfortable periods that a trader must endure in this EA and he should ask himself would I really do that?
I have endured several days of DD and finally Blessing 2 and the market allowed me to get flat...but the horrible DD is just too much for me. I am comfortably flat and will follow along in this thread to discover if there is a better way to trade Blessing 2.
I like PipLite on the EUR/CHF H1 better, but I need to trade it longer to discover if it is "comfortable".
Please understand that I am not flaming this thread or the most excellent coding abilities of Iron & 5th. I thought that honest reviews both pro and con would be appreciated...and these are my personal views and I am not stating that they are correct for you.
Please trade carefully. You have been warned ☺
