Another way is to: (assuming you have more than one day's total)

Add up each days profit and list them in a column one after another...then you can add them up to get a total and divide them by the number of lines in your column...You will get the true average this way and it will be slightly different than the simplier way Linuxuser suggests. Profit divided by loss is the profit factor...but the average is another question...

Spreadsheets are good for this if you are an Excel person. There is prolly' some sort of custom indicator out there...Linuxuser would know where it is...

ES

Here is a question for you... Is this a true or false statement? (Average profit/average loss) = profit/loss

And then here is another question... is ADR the same as ATR...?

You see..."true" is a matter of perspective

Brokers

Guys
I do not post much. I do communicate with Jeff on this EA and Piplite. Both are doing great in my live accounts. I noticed that most here are using IBFX micro accounts. Both of these EAs do great with IBFX. A few people mentioned accounts with FXDD. I ran extensive back tests and demo forward test on both these EAs before going live with real money. Both brokers demo accounts showed similar results. After going live My IBFX account continued in true to the demo. My FXDD account did not. At the end of a month Blessing did well on IBFX and lost money on FXDD. I used the same settings but tweaked them to account for the difference in the types of account FXDD at 10c per pip and IBFX at 1c per pip. So I would warn against using Blessing on FXDD. If you have an account on FXDD, I recommend to use Piplite I have made a killing with that combo. Last week about 28%. So the word to the wise is to watch your account carefully when you go live. Not all accounts nore all broker feeds are created equally.
MIKE

Good to see you here, Mike. I know we've discussed the synergistic
effects of Blessing/IBFX. At the risk of being somewhat off-topic,
would you say that Piplite/FXDD works in a similar manner? IOW,
have you found Piplite to perform better with FXDD than IBFX?

New Version

All,

I've attached a new version of Blessing 2. It's up to Version 4.4 now. Go here and get it.

There were reports, during backtesting, that Equity Protection was hit but there were trades left hanging that weren't closed. Turns out, that if EP was hit, the program took one more lap around the ole' trading logic wheel and put a new set of trades out there!

No one has seen this unless you were diligent backtesting and noticed the quirk during EP stops. This was a very easy fix. Now EP is the first thing to get looked at followed by Hard Account Protection then the logic.

I've been tossing around an idea that will take a little effort but might pay off for us all. Seems everyone likes to run mutiple pairs with Blessing. I believe they should talk with one another and Take Profits or close at EPs if needed. In other words, different pairs, different techniques for those pairs but one account with one profit target. What do you think? Anyway, I'll throw that out there...

Happy Trading

I think this is a brilliant idea...Set it up for a 1K IBFX mini account...

Include a no MM version also ...for smaller balances....or for pussies like me...☺

Math Mod function error..

HI many thanks to Iron and others on this thread for their great efforts in producing this EA -I have got 2 blessings 2 vs. 4.4 to work namely the JPY and CAD on the daily charts using the supplied presets but can not get the EUR/USD and AUD/CAD to work using the supplied preset data on 4 hour charts. I am getting 'zero divider for Math Mod function' in the expert message box -any help much appreciated! ( All experts are set to allow the same micro lot trading - 5 dec. places account -Alpari UK demo).

Iron says this is a broker error, but I don't think so. I believe it is something else because it works fine on the D1 charts, just the H4 charts don't work for some reason. Maybe Iron will look into later because I don't believe this is a broker error or the D1 should not be working either, but they do.

Folks,

I have found this error on Alpari. The only explaination I can surmise is that Alpari doesn't allow initial lots below .1 but does allow increases in the .01 after that, i.e: .1, .11, .12 and so on.

FXCM is the same way. You need to find a broker that allow micro trading down to the .01 lot initially both on micro accounts and standard accounts. FXDD and IBFX are two that come to mind.

I will continue to run this down, but again, it works fine with the above mentioned brokers.

Happy Trading
