just spoke with derk on skype, he is perfecting the EA and will soon be posting it so that it could be either back test or forward test.

I believe with forward testing and i think it will not be difficult for me to do.

Thank you so much for your method, strategy and EA that you are create. . I'm very interested and still trying.

Can you are HELPING us to get a SIGNAL ( ex. Arrow, bullets or etc, ) that can we see in our chart ??

The Signal is same like if the system ( EA ) get the ENTRY every position. With the signal, I just want to compare between the EA when the entry position and the signal came, also the indicator ( Synergy Dinamic Index ) that was ready.

Really, I'm very interested to trying and this system when the first I read this
thread.

In your posts, sometimes I think you are talking about my Ind/EA, sometimes yours. If you are speaking of mine, could you mention me in there so I know? Otherwise I will assume you are talking about yours.

And BTW, some sort of concerted testing effort is always a good idea, but orchestrating is the hard part, and I don't have time to oversee that. If someone else wants to contribute by getting folks going, I will be happy to assist.

I have made a few changes/improvements to the Synergy EA.

It seems some out there are finding that the indicator does not behave correctly, or does not put up arrows where the EA trades, or vice versa.

I have not had time yet to try to go over the SynergyInd thoroughly to try to find problems, but it seems to work pretty reliably for me. So for now, it is unchanged. Please make sure that your EA and Ind have the same (entry/exit) settings, or of course they will behave differently. I guess if you have troubles; see a signal where there should not be one, or vice versa, then it would be most helpful to me if you post a screen shot of the issue, along with the time/date it occurred, the pair, and the brokerage you are using. That way I can go back specifically and find the bug.

Same goes for the EA, although, as I said, I have made changes, so please forward test the new one and post any problems with it.

Regarding .set files, the only thing I can offer is my best guess for settings; the ones I am testing now. And I have just made those the defaults, so no settings file needed. I am only using GBPJPY, hourly chart right now, and that is what the defaults are for. On both Ind and EA, by default, the only entry condition used is "UseVolExpanding", and the only enabled exit is "UseOppPAC_Trail" (see below).

The 30 minute would probably be okay too, but I am finding shorter or longer does not work as well. The reason for using only GBPJPY is that it moves so much that it's much easier to attain a worthwhile pip goal on more of the entries.

I do not pretend to say that someone could not get it working well on another pair/TF, but you'll have to experiment for that. If you do, I advise possibly modifying the TakeProfit and the TrailingValue.

What has been added and tested:

#1:
I have added / fixed the "UseOppPAC_Trail" option. This defaults to true, and places the stop on the other side of the Price Action Channel. As the channel moves, so does the SL; therefore in a sense, it "trails", so long as the PAC is moving in a favourable direction.

#2:
There is a new option called "SplitOrder", defaulted to true. When true and it gets a signal, it will place two orders instead of one, each with half the lots. One of them will be placed with a TakeProfit setting (whatever TakeProfit) is set to; the other will have no TP and will run as long as the trend lasts, eventually stopping out when a candle closes on the opposite side of the PAC (see #1).

With the default settings, there is also a 100 pip trail which kicks in when it reaches 100 profit (and therefore the first half of the trade closes). I observed this seems to help lock in more profit than not using it, while still allowing it enough room to vacillate.

All necessary files can be found in the latest .zip file, attached.

Sorry for any ambiguity. In fact, recently I have only discussed results with your system, as you can see from the chart shots I posted. By the way, I have had no trades overnight with SynergyEA on EURUSD and USDJDY, but I suspect that my inputs are not right. It would be nice to have a set of suggested settings, and perhaps a table describing all the inputs and the wingdings that appear on the chart.

I think that the best environment for forward testing is a single installation per person, with one currency pair per person. If we can get 4 or 5 pairs running like this, we may get meaningful data. Each day testers should send screenshots and MT4 reports so you can see the exact behaviour of each trade (or lack thereof).

For backtesting, we need to know a range of inputs to test for each parameter, and again, a dedicated install that does not go online, otherwise the data becomes mixed.

Henceforth I will call my version Chimera, and I will upload a new version myself later.

One concern I have about HA and PAC is that there is too much lag. Have you considered the possibility of using a Simple rather than Smoothed MA or even Envelopes rather than the 2 MAs?

I really appreaciate your contribution to this thread, your suggestions have really helped the growth of the development of this software.

We wouldn't want to deviate from the actual method/syntax of this trading method as stated in the PDF File, if you feel that the indicators are lagging and this called for introduction of different indicators, i think you should start a new thread and describe your method.

really, any deviation from the method in the post 1# would not be tolerate as am sure it will cause distraction and confusion.

In contrast to Fowope's comments, I am for whatever works best, but I am hesitant to change things in my code unless there is some convincing analysis to back it up and prove it worthwhile. We already tried that with a few things, which is why the program has several unused entry/exit options still. If you/others want to do some serious analysis and can show how specific use of some indicator can cut losses, then great; I will program it.

In regard to settings for various pairs, I believe I already covered that in the new text on post #65. But to recap, my recommendation is defaults on GPYJPY H1 chart. If you change it to another (less volatile) pair, and/or shorter TF, you may need to reduce TakeProfit and TrailingValue. But I have not tested others so do not know.

Regarding explanation of settings / instructions, I will get to that when I can, and will include it with the installation instructions.

Very interesting strategy and very good work developped !

Few questions and suggestions :
-would it be possible to make a screen copy of settings file of the Ea
- based on that i am ready to run this Ea on a demo account on 24 hours based and post here a link for a live access on statement with a refresh every 5 min
- This could help to analyze trades and improve the ea if needed
- please inform what are best pairs and time frame to be used
- inform about MMangement used or recommended
- Do U have any demo statement available based on this EA ?
