Last two days i spent reading this thread from page # 1 till todays last post. Just wanted to say great work from your part and others who share their knowledge and programming efforts...thanks,there were a lot of people without whom this thread wouldn`t have been the same .
I must say , first few page started with Manual trading concept now totally changed to EA concept. You did mentioned the EA testing is also part of manual learning but i was very insterested in this thread while i was learning manual trading with simba system. I guess i lost my interested since EA concept included and took alot of time testing here because EA testing has broken the continuation of manual samba system learning process...I believe that EA testing has added the final touch to the system,showing its limits and long term soundness,there was not much more else to say from a manual point of view..let the market be your teacher.
Any way, wanted to share my views and pay my respect to you for sharing this system with us in this forum...Thanks

Would love if you can summerisze the simba manual system with rules with indicaters attached so if someone really interested to learn from you can go to your summary and follow this thread for further details...I believe that if somebody wants to learn to trade a manual system,they need to read the thread and pick up on its nuances,if they just want a summary,they can download the indicators&EA,and ,since the rules are in the EA,they can just read them..though it would be only partial learning.
Only one thing i regret to say that i found your thread very late till few days ago, i wish i could have found this thread earlier to learn and share...I am fairly certain that you would have been a valuable contributor.

I HAVE ATTACHED THE LAST SET OF INDICATORS AND THE TEMPLATE FOR MY SYSTEM..MY INTENTION IS THAT ANY FUTURE UPDATES WILL BE DONE IN THIS POST ..TO BE EASILY ACCESSIBLE BY EVERYBODY..
THESE INDICATORS,AND THE SETTINGS OF THE TEMPLATE, ARE THE ONLY ONES I SUPPORT AS SIMBASYSTEM..ANY OTHER VERSIONS OF THEM ARE NOT APPROVED TO BE USED WITH THIS SYSTEM..AND CAN LEAD TO DIFFERENT RESULTS.
NEW EDIT AND UPDATE: 28 APRIL 2007..The later posts of this thread had been dedicated to create an EA that allows us to capture the decision making processes of the system.
We also implemented extensive backtesting that showed a consistently profitable and safe to trade system if used exclusively on GBPUSD,GBPJPY..for other pairs,even if the conceptual basis of the system can be easily applied,I do it most of the time,the test results are indicative of negative results in the long term with the standard parameters
Then we started a forward test of the system it started on 27 March and stopped on 20 April,unintentionally,probably due to the fact that we run out of support from our forward testing backer ..we started with 20kUSD the 27 March USD and ended with 22.9K the 20 of April..
And you will find in the EA attached in this post,and its test results in the next one ,with the official settings which ,obviously,include the rules for trading the system,and the testing results..one interesting note for those that either believe or not in backtesting,the only way to effectively backtest a system is to use both in sample and out of sample testing to avoid overfitting of system parameters to particular market conditions,so,what we did was to test in sample for the period that goes from June04 to FEB/March07..and then test out of sample for the period that goes from Jan01 to June04..and confirm positive results for that period too.
Some of you may think about the usefulness of using an EA in a manual trading system,and my reply is that testing of assumptions is essential for any trading system,either manual or mechanical,and ,to do so, in a systematic way,you need an EA.
So,this is one of those rare threads,if any,where you will find ,first,an interesting manual trading system , second,an extensive testing of its assumptions,and third,the EA and rules that will allow you to test and fine tune the system in the near Future,both for the used pairs(GBPUSD,GBPJPY) and for any new pair you may wish to apply...if somebody wants to cooperate in the forward testing issue we could have more ..Inform

When I started trading,I was single,I thought I needed 2 bln $,a couple Lamborghini(Murcielago and Diablo) and a castle full of Petrus and Romanee Conti bottles..can you imagine that?..now add some nice chicks and you will get the picture,now,hear your favourite music,just feel its beat,smell the perfume,savour the food,it doesn`t matter what food,just Fill it with your favourite,take the Diablo,feeel the smoothness while it draws the road with its tyres..or not...think about it...after a few years, I realized I just didn`t need them...what I really need is air,water,food,health and the love of my children and wife..everything else is irrelevant,so,if you..mmm.. really think that you need "this change with alert",you should spend the rest of your life learning to code in mql4..or ,as you look at your right hand,do it now,just try..I will explain later why looking at your right hand(left if you are left handed) is extremely important..realize that you can really change your way of thinking..stop for a moment..really stop..you might be wondering what this fuss is about,and you are right to wonder..look again,now at the other hand,quickly..ok,now,just realize that I didn`t instructed you about what side of your hand you should have been looking at..and that is your decision,I leave it to you..but do it now..change... of hand is extremely important,because,you know it,don`t laugh..yet..hands and brain are linked by the nervous system..and ,as you calm down,and relax,really relax..you will realize that..

I'm just halfway through this thread now, must say the best example of trading knowledge presented in a way that TEACHES TRADING, not just blankly staring in a screen waiting for "red line to cross green line". Trading is so much more than that, and you show it very well.
One quoestion though - when we use this #MTF_xpMA_v2SATL indicator, it has a SATL component inside. Do we need to regenerate it from time to time because dominant cyclic frequencies may have changed, or is it good to the end of the days? Big thanks for this thread again!

You don`t need to regenerate SATL,it is a very robust digital filter that works fairly well in most cyclic environments..
If you want,and you know how to do it,you can create a specific SATL customized for the specific cycles that are dominant at the pair and tf you are trading...if you don`t,standard SATL works very well

What exactly is wrong when you try to install indicators?

I would like to ask you to put that filter on test to see if it improves performance of your system.
The only way it can be proven is to forward/backtest with and without indicators.See the results and show us proof
My previous tests of systems with and without indicators have proven that the value of indicators is Zero
