i learning to do scalps (with oschillator) with short term target 5-10 pips.. but sometimes i forget to do trend filtering, like what happen today when there is strong trend happen to support dollar... sometime i open position againts the trend hoping for small profit.

so i would like to ask indicator or method to detect if there's strong trend happen (or spike).. i should stay away from the market. should i use channel like bollinger / keltner ?

any clue ? whats your favourite ?

use adx on hourly time frame if adx is over 25 dont try to scalp against the trend
