MT4 custom indicators on Vista platform?

Hello all,
Complete novice here. Was very keen to get the zup 62 installed, but failed.
I am new to MT4 charting, have downloaded it and it is usable for charts, but I cannot get an "association" to open the zup 62 download. Also tried someone to forward an unzipped version, but same problem. Not wishing to give up, I'd appreciate some help. Many thanks.

Hi,

According with Metaquotes officials, Metatrader 4 should run under Vista without any problem.

However the´re some reports about minor problems. It's a Microsoft product anything could happens

Try to report the problem to metaquotes.

Right click your mouse on the MT4 shortcut icon, then select run as administrator, it should solve the problem. I did faced some problems running scripts on window vista but when i applied the step it seem ok again.

It means that you modified the script/indicator/EA in MetaEditor and you can do the following:
- do not save the changes and simple close the MetaEditor's window with "*" file;
- accept the changes by compiling.
"*" means that you did some changes inside the code.

Problems with MT4 and Vista

I have a number of problems with MT4/Vista and would appreciate some help

1. I cannot delete charts from MT4 permanently. When I restart MT4 the charts re-appear.

2. When I save a new profile or a template I cannot find them when i search for them in Vista. They appear in the MT4 drop down menus. I also cannot delete unwanted profiles and templates as when I restart MT4 they all reappear.

I have checked the MT4 folder in the progam files in Vista but seem to have a different set to what I use on my charts. It appears the current profiles and templates seem to be storted somewhere else but no amount of searching through vista finds them.

3. Vista also won't allow the live update to run , it asks for permission and I click accept but the live update never runs. I have put the file in the progams allowed area in vista and I try and run it as the administrator.

If anyone has some solutions I would appreciate some help - Thank you

I moved your post to this thread.
Run Metatrader as administrator. Besides there is something named 'share files' so you will find there what you could not find.

Question deleted templates reappear

I have deleted quite a few templates, that are gone for a little while then like ghosts, reappear without warning. Where does MT4 store this info (other than the templates folder) and how do I kill them off completely?

I have deleted them using the delete function, I have manually deleted them from the folder and have re-installed MT4, but they will not die. Also old profiles - same thing. Please ... how do I make them go away?
