so if one is out on the road, they can't call oanda and make trades from a ph?First broker i've ever heard that you can't do ph trades.

Or was the creator of this thread wrong about that.

Once you start trading successfully during volatile times with OANDA you become a target.

Another one that reminds of OANDA is FXCM.

Another broker I used to hold in high regard was GFT. Recently they started playing the same games as Oanda and FXCM, and I decided to close my account.

I closed my account with Refco 6 months before they went bankrupt when I found out that they were associated with FXCM.

I had an account with GFT last year. The graphics are nice but the trading systems and indicators are very few. They are a market maker and can make money off you easily - a former employee said they do that a lot. It may take 10-15 min to get a fill and even during slow periods it may take several minutes. They would disconnect every few minutes if you didn't place a trade frequently. News trading is a disaster, and the screen would freeze up a lot. Things may have changed recently but I doubt it. Demos are 30 days only and cannot be renewed.

I think non-dealing desk brokers are the way to go. Transparency in fees. Low leverage. No "mini" accounts allowed. Minimum deposits are higher but you get to trade like the brokers do.

I never ever trade during volatile times, and don't intend to news trade.. OANDA is still a prospective broker to be used. There spread is still very low. As long as they don't screw around when your not trading during volatile times i'd be happy. ANyone have any normal trading experience with OANDA? Not speaking during news time.

Hotspotfx

they claim to be an ECN, non-dealing desk broker.
Its very desirable for the trader to be in a non-dealing desk
trading environment.

Note..there are no Mini or micro accounts available.
Its for serious traders with money behind them.

Its possible to even trade "within the spread"

And normal spreads are very low.

Ive no experience with them in live trading, Im just reporting what Ive discovered.

Here is info from their site on individual accounts:

Hotspot FX is an ECN that offers a level playing field where all market participants have equal access to the world's most dynamic, largest market-foreign exchange.

Hotspot FX offers:

* Direct high-speed anonymous executions.
* Real-time instant markets: click and trade live prices, or
* Enter bids/offers inside the current bid/offer spread
* Professional order execution/fills.
* Leverage as high as 50:1
* Real time news and charting services.
* Minimum account deposit of $7,500
* Low transaction costs.

For more information, please call 908-941-7744 or email trader@hotspotfx.com.

If you really like MT4 Charts and have some manual/semi-automated trading strategy that is working well. You could combine MT4 for locating the trade and manually exectute via Hotspotfx. Minimum is 1 full Lot.
