This thread is toooooo slow these days. Too bad, for it seemed a good system... ... for some at least.

Just to spice things up a little here, I will post my opinion on why some claim to have profits with TSU#1. Remember I can only talk about this one, for it is the only TSU I actually tested.

As you recall, I am (was?) working under the first rules of joesmoe. I built an EA out of them and put it to backtest. The results were far from good. Of course I submited the code to joesmoe, who said it was ok. He even had some suggestions on why it wasn´t profitable, but those didn´t work as well.

So here is some pepper, guys: maybe people got lucky with TSU#1! Just that . It may be a matter of probability: not all trades will be bad. Some will be good, and maybe (just maybe) Lady Luck has been selecting those for some fortunate member of this thread.

I say this not only to add some discussion to an almost dead thread, but because our tests shows losses in average. That means if you take ALL the trades presented by TSU#1, you will surely lose money. But if you can select the wining ones (without the help of Lady Luck) you get a wining system!

The statement above is obvious for most people: selecting wining trades makes a wining system. However TSU#1 does not select those. Sorry, I want this to work too, but until further development, TSU#1 is doomed to luck... just that.

P.S. 1: I wait for your comments and remember: I am working to make this TSU good for us all. I am not the bad-guy, just the seaching-for-a-good-system-guy !

P.S. 2: where are you, JS?

In my experience, TSU 1 works with strong limits, thus not as stand alone system. Checking back my profitable as well as loosing trades, Ive found out it all depends on trend. ID mentioned it is the luck. I would add, that when I was lucky to guess the trend correctly, my trades were succesfull. If not, I struggled and mostly lost.
Therefor I would say that TSU may be good for entry/exit, but you need something else, that would show you the trend. The question is, whether it is really neccessary to use this kind of setup for entry/exit as with strong trend and small TP one would say even random entry and exit would bring profit...
I myself use 5minbluetsr from another thread to see the trend.

Question: is anyone successful (longer term) with other TSU from this thread? A frind of mine declares he is, but Im not sure what exactly is he doing. I am also profitable (though last weeks are not so good), but Im using more different indicators and right now Im not sure which one is my head unconciously prefering :-)

Thanks.

Good point here: very easy to trade any system if one knows the trend. If one is right about it, he can use any entry method and will eventually win along the trend. But how to do that? Not trivial, if you ask me.

I did not find the mentioned "5minbluetsr" indicator. Not even in google. Is it copyrighted? Could you post it here? Maybe I could integrate it on my own tests...

I ment the method from this thread:
5minBlueTrS. What you Think?
It seems rather oposite to KISS philosophy. It is build from like dozens of indicators. Ive got it modified and removed or replaced things I did not understand or did not find usefull. Instead I added THV Trix. Together, using higher TF, you can really see the trend and then look for entry on smaller TFs. Its more about complex look at situation then checking and comparing indicator by indicator. So much for KISS. It simply wont work from day 1 for everyone.

Note for ID: I think I have some proposals about system, that combines methods from different threads, but it would take attention from this thread and thats not my purpose. Do you think you can try skype with me? Or PM?

Never saw that thread, but will have a look at it right away. As for KISS, I too would like that ideal simple system. Just didn't find it yet. Those charts are pretty scary, but if you say they work, I would not mind giving them a try.

Sure we can work together. Feel free to choose between a fresh new public thread or PMing me.

Regards,

Here's a question for Joesmoe. After a news event causes huge spikes, such as last Friday's good news at 8:30am EST for the USD, do you jump right back in, or wait for a cooling off period of an hour or so? This pertains to TSU#2. Thanks for your kind efforts, Joe.

Friday news !

I have now a principle to avoid trading on a Friday, too much jumps , and fake moves and all that devilry. And yes , you should always WAIT, wait for rebound, wait for the stop hunting , just wait 15-30-60 minutes , and you will increase your profit , and avoid soooo many losses.
Good Luck

I'm just finding this thread. It looks like a good system to build on. I like the simplicity. Too many indicators give me "brain fry". I'll definitely check this out...
