Today was my first real full day in the monkey zoo. You know the place that replaced the boiler room. It was such a laugh, with great banter and some truly international jokes and insight. I think though, and please all joking aside, what makes it so special it actually the sharing of information and ideas about trading. Brilliant - just one call this afternoon from Pimp would have made most people weekly pip target. He shouts "anybody fancy a bit of the Dow?" Within 3 minutes, it was gone and gone a long way, like 120 pips.

I have been full time trading since January 2008 - lost a lot, if fact I was nearly a statistic, but by luck came across a thread with info from a Dan007 and an fxpimp. For those that came across the thread you will know first hand how it just transformed my trading. I learnt about charts, set-ups, correlations, rubber bands, money management and a whole lot of other stuff that transformed my trading. These two guys (and they are men) totally sorted me and my trading direction. I had a strategy, I knew why I was entering trades and suddenly, from weekly losses, I started making pips.

It started with my first 50 pips, I then hit 100 in a week, and then I took my first 250 in a week, and I am now achieving 500 per week regularly. This week, and today I have achieved 727 pips. A personal record.

Why should you as the reader be interested or bothered? Well, the reason is, is that if you are serious about wanting to make pips, then you need to track these two individuals down, and it ain't difficult, and get yourself involved.

It has been my privilege to learn from Dan and Pimp. I try not to gush, as I want the experience to come across as genuine, but this thread and The London Open, have truly set me on the road to life as a very successful trader. My target is 250 pips per week. Today alone I hit 320. I won't need to be a corporate monkey again if I keep this up. My gosh what personal freedom!

What's the secret of the success - certainly its nothing complicated. It involves some simple chart set-ups and the ability to trade with the trend. Thats all it is. The genius is the chart set-up itself and the many years of experience poured in to those chart set-ups by Dan and Pimp; which they gave me for free!

Using the chart set-up which I came across by accident through bumping in to Dan on his thread one depressed afternoon, has enabled me to make pips, not on demo, but real live pips, with money attached. Whats more, whenever I had a question, I was always pointed in the right direction and helped. I am honoured to be part of this community and hope I can contribute in some small way to the success of the group.

Wow Rockdrive that's totally awesome. Congrats on your success. You've inspired me to try and step it up. Are you in USA. Curious how so many are able to trade the london open. That's like midnight for me.

I too live in US if thats what time you need to be up, set a alarm.
I wake up @ midnight stay up 3 to 4 hrs make my pips then take a quick nap.

Here's my financial advice for the day
IF IT MAKES DOLLARS, IT MAKES CENTS!!!

Pimps thread is priceless....take your pips and move to a better time zone, I'd do it but I'm more of a night owl.

Nice to meet you. Since your able to wake up for a few hours, I assume you trade for a living then?

I just started trading the forex for about a month now. Kinda have had my own method, but it has been a bit risky and doesn't seem to produce the kind of pips these guys are always talking about. Right now I need to slowly build up my account so that I can eventually be trading a full lot at $10 a pip (scares the hell out of me LOL). But having to work my regular suck azz job, I wouldn't be able to wake up at midnight for a few hours. Kinda puts me between a rock and a hard spot. I was able to just catch the fall in oil this morning and throw in a long play on USD/CHF for a few pips. Luckily the Pimp Monkey and Gorrilla gave everyone a heads up. That's one thing I need to do is find that secondary platform so I can trade the crude and gold. Right now I use IBFX and can't even see Crude or Oil.

Use demo until you are confident use the platform like pimp to view the charts and you could still stay with your current broker to submit orders.
I only trade forex , no gold no oil but view them. You know where you want to be a yr from now, 3 yrs from now it's up to you if you take the steps to get you there. Even if you trade $1.00 pip get your 25 pips a day 5 days a week
Thats 125.00 a week that's 6,500 a yr....It's worth it to listen, ask q'ions if you need to drink more coffee than do so
I'm used to the lack of sleep have a 4 month old.

you guys work wonders...this week for me personally has been like the Dow lol but overall has been profitable I use to blow up accounts left and right...but this is the second consecutive week I have over 200 pips in the bank...the chat room has been great sorry I cannot get too involved because I am usually trading from my job and analyzing charts, reading post, reading the chat session and engineering to keep peoples lights on can be a handful...but I manage... :-)

Like piptaker and mthomas I to live in the USA, and I set my alarm at 3am for the london session and then have to zip to work about 4 hours after the opening to be at work at 7am...luckily I can view the US session by remotely logging into my PC at home and I can continue to trade...I'm trying hard to become a Full Time trader...and I see the progress trade by trade...as I gain emotional control and patience for clear opportunities...and to think I am only 23 years old...lol I use to try all these different trading style but now that I focus on perfecting 1, my win ratio is higher then ever before.

oh by the way today was a great trading day...very conservative trades that were closed out pretty quickly for good profits...I am excited about tomorrow

A West Coaster here - will have to turn my days upside down now. I go in the chat room but by the time I get there, Dan and Zak leave, laden down with pips, leaving just bare bones for the rest of us.

Agreed. This really is an amazing strategy. Sometimes I still get confused reading those Heiken Ashi candles, but I'm starting to get better at it.

I just grabbed a few off of the Gbp/Jpy - which I rarely trade - but this looked like a great set-up. Do most of you trade the 5min strategy?

This morning coulod well be quiet but with Gold having fallen a long way yesterday I would be looking for a long position IF it can break above 60m 20 and pivot at $847 with Oil holding.
If that does play out then the best opportunity in the fx market looks to be Euro, upto 1.3965.

Short and sweet with limited volatility likely. lets see what happens.
