I have been around forex forums for about an year and a half. What I have seen is that people are becoming more and more interested in scalping techniques and most indicators are now being suited for scalping. This is quite understandable, because of the profit of this technique. But I want to make this topic, so that we, the traders that use higher TFs, like 4H, daily or weekly can discuss what indicators are we using. I personally seem to be removing indicator after indicator, and looking only in price action, trendlines, s/r levels. What is your experience? (shades)

Incicator/Script showing candles one by one

Hi all,
I need to practise with MT4 in history data forex charts in various TFs (from M5 up to H4 or daily). So I m looking for a script/indicator (not sure) that will display each candle on MT4 (on each TF) one by one and not all together.

Just to make this clear I ll give an example. Suppose we go back to January 2009 and we display the H1 TF. I do not want to be able to see anything after the 1st of Jan 2009 (just up to the 1st of Jan and then an empty chart even if I scroll right the chart). But by pressing a key (F12 or something) the next candle to appear on the screen.

I hope you did understand what i m looking for. Sorry but English isnt my native language.

PS. I know about the MT4 feature of pressing F12 and appears one by one each candle. But I m looking for something better so not to cheat when I m practising!

looking for an "indicator" showing previous traded orders

Hi,

I m looking for an indicator that by running it will be be taking old traded orders from a txt or csv or whatever needed file and plot them on a chart appropriately.

eg.
Type Symbol Size Open date&Closed date S/L T/P Open price* Closed price*
B GBPUSD 0.01 2009-10-23 18:30:09/2009-10-28 18:35:26 etc.etc.

I hope that what i m asking for is not too tough!

Speedometer ...

Can someone help me build the "Speedometer"?
Each bar positive (close higher open) takes values +1, each bar negative (close lower open) takes value -1, each bar neutral (close equal open) takes value 0 [eg (sequence of bars): 4 bars positive "Speedometer" +4, 3 bars negative "Speedometer" +1, 2 bars neutral "Speedometer" +1, 5 bars negative "Speedometer" -4, etc ...)

MA Candles

I use an indicator called MA_Candles on a 5 min chart, where
MA1 =5 and MA=8. I have set blue for the color of a rising market and red for a falling market.

Can some one please explain the math that is involved in making these calculations.

Rate of MACD

Hi everyone...

I am testing a strategy on 1H time frame for EUR/USD but my problem is that I do not have this indicator on MT4 though I designed it on Ninja Trader but don't know about coding in MT4. I just request any one of you to use their expertise and code it if possible.

I am uploading 3 screenshots to let you know what it does.

Let us assume that we are starting from the vertical line marked at Screen 1. So starting from Screen 1: Take this as the starting point where MACD value reads -0.00651. So assign a = -0.00651

Screen 2: MACD = -0.00658. So assign b = -0.00658

Screen 3: MACD = -0.00653. So assign c = -0.00653

What I am trying to do is to check the rate at which MACD is changing. It means to check the differences and compare between (c - b) with (b - a).

In this example:

(c - b) = (-0.00653) - (-0.00658) = 0.00005
(b - a) = (-0.00658) - (-0.00651) = -0.00007

Clearly (c - b) > (b - a)

Hence at the close of the current bar as at Screen 3, this indicator must plot a Blue Color Dot on the MACD as shown in the image.

Summary:

The logic can be summerized as follows:

If (MACD at Current Closed Bar - MACD of Previous Bar) > (MACD of Previous Bar - MACD of Previous to Previous Bar, 2 Bars ago from Current Closed Bar) then Plot Blue Dot on the MACD at the close of current bar.

If (MACD at Current Closed Bar - MACD of Previous Bar) < (MACD of Previous Bar - MACD of Previous to Previous Bar, 2 Bars ago from Current Closed Bar) then Plot Red Dot on the MACD at the close of current bar.

I hope to have explained the requirement of this indicator properly.
While I still await to see the results from this indicator and if productive, it can be shared in this forum.

Please, make arrangements to allow user defined Fast, Slow and Signal Values for MACD and also the choice to select colors for dots.

I am attaching the MACD True indicator just in case.
