i have a question for people who are easy with use of EAs in metatrader 4 plateform :
I am now testing en EA (based on the original turtle method) in live demo account (I prefer this way to backtesting way)
The system is now making profit and have a dozen of trades opened. 9 are winning trades or 3 are losing.
The programer of this EA told that persons who will test it have to look for the setting which are the most adapted to time frame, stress tolerance,…….
My question is the following:
Could I modify setting of a running EA. For example. The system has a lockprofit function setted as true by default with starting to lock after 50 pips of profit and 30% of profit

LockProfit = true;
extern double
PipLockinStart = 50, //$ amount to start lock in
LockinPercent = 30;

Could I disconnect or modify settings of this function while the EA in running with open positions ?

I know I have to set every parameter when I load the EA but what could I do when it is already launched ?

If someone could make it clear ?....

You can modify it but most likely it will only affect new orders.
