Donīt you think that especially for non english mother language people it is easier to read if it is correct spelling and punctuation?
You're right. European languages needs correct punctuation to make easy to read, maybe is most important than grammar or spelling.
Iīm not native with English but it's the same thing with Spanish, Italian, French and so on. Languages with Latin origin (old Roman Language for people who doesn't know what Latin is) have the same basement.
Problem is not all languages have the same punctuation, Asian or Middle East languages are completely different, even different reading/writing (right to left) and members could be confused for that.
Exactly, punctuation in french (at least) is very important. Sometines a comma (,) is like a word. If you forget it, your text change meaning.
And languages are so different. For example, Thai (i live in thailand) writing doesn't have space between words. When you see a space, it is like a dot (.) for western languages. It's the beginning of a new part of text. Maybe a Thai native can confirm.
