Optimization - Genetic Algorithms?
The optimization status is 172/10496 (1030301)
genetic algorithm is ON It has been 30 hours 32 minutes so far (after this it says 1822.45.07) How much longer is this likely to take? I haven't used genetic algorithm before, I thought it was meant to speed up as it progresses?

Using the MT4 Strategy Tester on an EA
Hi all,
I am trying to use the Strategy Tester to test an EA Autotrader on a AUD/JPY 60 minute chart. I am back testing just six months of data but am finding it is taking up to 6 hours to get the results and for the test to complete. Am I doing something wrong here? I am testing for every tick because they say that is more accurate, but is there a faster way? Thanks!!!

:: Did you switch off Optimization? Otherwise you will redo your tests in different "step" phases... and that can take long... but even then 6 hours is also too long... Quote:

Optimization problem with MT4 Build 216
 Could anyone tell me how to get the optimization working in MT4 build 216? A long time ago I’ve play around a NN EA that’s needs everyday optimization to keep it going, and I’ve NO problem with MT4 build 203, it takes a long while to complete the optimization (which is normal).But when I upgraded the MT4 to build 216, the optimization function doesn’t seem to work any more? No matter what input value I used or any setting I’ve tried it just giving me one result. “There were 1 passes done during optimization” and it only takes a second to complete the optimization? I’ve tried with different Server/Installer i.e. Alpari, Mig, FXDD, IBFX etc.. all have the same result Am I missing something? any idea? Cheers mic.

Modelling Quality 90%
It is necessary to do that is written in instruction.If at testing for you design quality less than, than 90 percents, results will be bad.

The same has happened to me. In earlier builds of MT4 I was able to backtest with no problems.
No, for reasons I don't understand, the backtesting features of MT4 have really gone down hill. My data is solid and it has work fine on older builds. Is this a problem that only a few people are having or is this something that most are experiencing? Mic, if you find any answers, please post. Quote:
