I think most people have a wrong picture about fx & eas.
They think, the only problem is to find a ea which makes profit, then start this ea and go to the beach for the rest of the week. And every sunday they go to the atm to get the cash...

Although it is hard work to code a profitable ea (profitable for the moment), it is even more work to keep this ea profitable. You have to look every day what the ea is doing, get new ideas, modify ea, backtest, discard ideas or not , compare strategies and so on.

You have to be able to analyze the reason why ea gets into trouble (if so), you must modify ea for changing markets.
For this procedure you need the ability to see the chart like the ea, you need coding knowledge and you need to have intimate knowledge of the ea itself.
That´s the reason why none of the blackbox-commercial-eas will be profitable over a longer time period.
So, if you want to have success with eas, you have to learn how to code them. If you don´t like to learn coding, forget the automated trading.

I´m at this fx ea business for 3 years now and i have 2 profitable eas, but it took me several hours every day to
keep them profitable... it´s just a business like any other, no easy going...

maintaining ea is not easy job , everytime market was changed , it's rare to find EA that stable even when market change.tweak,tweak and tweak your EA to get a better result

BIG applouse to u my friend, i am totally agreed with u... i'm here to try to develop the best i could to finding out what the best coding can apply with different terms of market, even now days people use neural network also fail to maintaining their eas because unsuitable coding or market.. so its happens..

perhaps we can develop the best of the best...

Well at least people are being honest and real on this thread. After 4 years of trying and creating ea's, I can honestly say none have been sustainable - The house wins most of the time.
