Direct from one of the co-creators of Cortex - hopefully this will stop the whinging...

I had no idea there is a "fun club" of Cortex, as for the Bogie, well... I am flattered, but it has nothing to do with me Even if they use my nn weights.
I was looking into the Bogie system until I found out that Forex_NN is vertually identical. To make the matter worse, it's only profitable when EURUSD is in an uptrend.
Here is a test result of EURUSD during Dec 2004 ~ Dec 2005 when EURUSD was in a downtrend.

I cannot understand how people can say that a copyrighted indicator is in the public domain.
If there is a copyright it is not public domain. It is not because it is freely available that it is in public domain.
For instance I can get a book free in a library but I am only allowed to read it, not to change his title and sell it. (Could you even imagine somebody doing it?)
People will never do that with a book but some people find that normal when it is on internet.
Bogie's EA also has a similar equity curve for dec2004-dec 2005. Be careful with it now that EU may have found it's peak and may be starting a new downtrend.
Of course the Ea from Bogie can be slightly different, for instance I saw that there are are parameters to filter days out and also MM ican be different, but my point is that the indicator is strictly the same and the EA is based on the same principles. So it shouldn't be an issue to reproduce the exact same behaviour.
Omelette, maybe M Boatright has added few tricks inside the EA but I think he has mostly made a great dis-service to the whole community renaming copyrighted indicators with his own name. Of course he could have hidden that more but still the harm is done.
I agree that this EA has quite much benefited from the uptrend in EURUSD.
Note: for the ones that are sending me PM, I will be one holiday from today antil August 4th, so be patient for the replies
Has anyone contacted William B for a response?
Are you suggesting that the EA may not perform as well in a downtrend, (the EURUSD has been in a range of about 650 pips since March of this year and the EA has performed well in backtests and demo trades within that period) and if so, what is your reasoning.

Thanks for the dialog . . .
Yes I contacted "Bogie enterprises" before starting the thread to see what they had to say. They just denied without any further explanation and as the denial doesn't make any sense when we check the indicator, that made me start this thread.
Yes, in my opinion, the Ea is biased toward an uptrend.
To check it you can backtest for instance.
Also the indicator is between 0 and 100, an unbiased method should be I think symetrical such as buy when go over 20 and sell if go bellow 80, but it is buy above 54 and sell below 74.
I wonder if the Bogie EA could utilize a trend following technique in which it could modify its own settings dependent on whether the pair is in an uptrend or a downtrend. I'd love to see an EA become more "intelligent" about its settings.
