Name any brokerage firm in the states, Europe and middle east i probably had an account with most of them.
The ony thing i learned is that when you made a wire transfer to another country this means you have no way on earth to persue your funds if something went wrong other than threatning to insult the brokerage firm on public forum.
My advise which i dont abide to still , is even if you are trader in Polar Pole, you open your account in your country. the simple logic behind that is you can go and knock the door of your broker if something went wrong.
Even in the most regulated country like Swizerland, some of the guys here may end up losing thier money even though they sent it through Swizerland.
Before this chaos happend i made a simple due dilligence which cost me 2 dollars . this was to call Swizerland offic and Lebanon office.
I posted on this forum what i found, and others copied my post to other forums.
The simple fact was the lebanon office is just a forex training center, and the Swizerland office was just Spacevision.
I also submitted the contract of Spacevision and Aleecoh online to show people they were the same. and then i was asked to remove it.
I am not blaming anybody for opening an account there because sometimes we see the rewards are higher than the risk.
If someone have to do this mistake again, dont try with an amount greater than 500$. and if somebody here lost that amount with AlecohFX then they should move on with thier life. If someone lost an amount higher than the cost of traveling to Swizerland and see authorities then be wise and take some legal actions.
.....Lebanon, Israel, and any middle eastern country....ummm no way...even if they were legit, the country itself is already too dangerous to trust...basically any unstable country is not somewhere I want my money at, you never know when their government is just going to freeze everything depending who's in power.
In retrospect, I agree - unfortunately, at the time the lure to 'get MT-connected' proved too great! What wasn't transparent when I joined was that funds had to be sent to an individuals account - right up to completing the paperwork! That definitely felt wrong, almost backed out - but didn't! Still, can't complain (too much!), I got out relatively unscathed - proved a cheap lesson with bucketshop brokers...

Yes, I recall your post, but I also remember that Aleccoh countered with "X'ed-out" numbers that he said he would provide via PM that would prove his integrity. You never responded to this, so I (and I guess others too) presumed that this information had checked out. Not trying to justify 'getting burned' or anything - I had probably most of my deposit withdrawn by then anyway - just as someone pretty familar with the theads contents, it was something I had wondered about...

But the fact he is a master manipulator, he was playing with facts. What hapened is he sent me his registration detail which is the same as Spacevision. I contacted the entity which he claimed he is registered to but they never replied back. I also called them but couldnt understand how to get through the frensh speaking automated operator.
Never the less, the past is the past. and i belive we should as a forum members have a forum members committee to investigate some fo the trash bieng posted in the forum.
This committee should have an incentive to do what should be done, this incentive can be material in terms of small fee paid by the person offering the commercial idea. Other wise forum members wont have the incentive to investigate some one for 1 month.
How can the committee be neutral , is something i dont have an answer to.

I really don't see how any AFX customer could find your not-following-up even minutely to blame for their loss - you were not a customer, the onus was on us to make these enquiries.
btw, I agree with your assessment of Aleccoh - he played on people's greed, telling them what they wanted to hear. From the outset and right till the end, he was far more concerned about getting his story 'out there' for publicity purposes and giving the impression that he was sincere, than actually doing anything concrete. I fell for it initially, but quickly came to realise (after I opened an account.. ) that there was something fundamently wrong there... I would have preferred to have been wrong though - what seemed like finally a 'decent' broker in the shark-infested waters of retail forex, turned out to be one of the worst of them! Hell, a broker that was 5-star rated but could only manage a debut -> demise period of a few months - that must be a record of sorts!!!
Finally, anyone notice that Aleccoh's "weekly updates" seem to have ended since zordan had confirmation from the Liquidator that Aleccohfx is indeed bankrupt? Makes you wonder if the so-called ongoing "legal-action" updates were just more bullsh*t...

) that there was something fundamently wrong there... I would have preferred to have been wrong though - what seemed like finally a 'decent' broker in the shark-infested waters of retail forex, turned out to be one of the worst of them! Hell, a broker that was 5-star rated but could only manage a debut -> demise period of a few months - that must be a record of sorts!!!
