Bill, just a brief message to let you know my results from Friday. Trading gbp/usd, the ea closed 107 orders and I have 19 open. Not a bad ratio, but the open orders are just about half of the toal profit right now. Is this similar to your results?
So far for 2 total days, my account increased 3.42% or on average 1.7% per day.
You know a money management feature might be a good idea where the lot size is based on percentage of account balance. Just a thought.

I think one must look at the account equity and not just realised profit. If you gain a net equity then only you made something.

That sounds about right. In the past month on my current grid I've closed almost 3000 trades and have around 150 standing open now. Averaging around 115-ish closed trades per day with my current settings.
What kind of money mangement? That varies greatly depending on your style. Are you trading long term or scalping? It is really a user decision rather than a setting on a robot.
I aim at around a 1% return/day and try to keep my leverage low. So far, it seems to be working. I am using my early returns to cover my drawdown, but that would be the same as investing in the infrastructure of a business. After awhile, I should be able to pull out the profits daily as my grid will have spread to cover a large range and my early profits would have balanced out the drawdown.
First, I use a currency with relatively little swap. That is one reason I don't use this system for the USDJPY with my long term approach. For the short term traders, swap is a non-issue.
Then, using a bi-directional grid, I find that the positive swaps that also build up come close to cancelling out the negative swap. On days that the grid moves into territory that it has not been in for awhile, I will see a small pile of positive or negative swap added/subtracted to/from my total for the day. It has never been more than a small fraction of the day's profits.
I am very new to forex . Please tell me example values for GBP/USD that I can input in Check Grid. I am unable to start system work.
Read the thread. Read the FAQ. Example values are in there. If it still doesn't run, check for a "happy face" in upper right of screen and "connection" in lower right of screen.
If it still doesn't work, check the alert messages and report what you see.

Can someone explain me how different is this strategy than just opening a few lots of hedge trades at a point and sit aside? I mean instead of opening and closing so many trades at each level if I buy as well as sell 1 lot of each of a pair then eventually one trade will make profit and the other one will lose. So after the losing drawdown reaches a certain value I can initiate the hedging technique exactly as per this EA. Are not both the concepts same?
