Good afternoon,

To jump in and clarify this process (if I may), 1) the account is opened, 2) the account is funded, 3) the funds go under management by the trader of choice.

There is often confusion about how #3 works. GoFXPro accepts new managed accounts on Fridays after the market closes IF all the trades are closed and flat. Otherwise it is an accounting nightmare to exclude part of the funds from an open trade(s). Typically, the trades with GoFXPro are all flat going into the weekend, but there have been weeks when trades are carried through the weekend and no new managed accounts are placed until the next Friday when/if all trades are closed.

Take care,
Bill

CheckGrid Question

Bill (AKA Muddyguy)

I have been using the CheckGrid demo for about 2 weeks and really like it. I do have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to, although it may be somewhere in the pdf. The question is this. Is there a mechanism in the EA that re-centers the grid periodically and if so how does it work? It seems that the grid changes, but maybe its because positions are closing out, etc. Just curious and trying to get a handle on how it works...BTW, the EA is in profit +$6000 since Sept 29th. Triggered hedge once when DD hit $2000 (my setting)

Thanks
Trader1

Hi,

The grid can recenter if it set up to close out at profits and start over.

Trade carefully,
Bill

Hi,

I don't know what you mean by "nothing happens". You have not provided enough detail so that I can help you properly.

If you are double clicking directly on the robot in the folder, it doesn't work that way. Please check the basic FAQ on your broker's website for instructions on how to load and use MT4 and robots.

Are you double clicking from inside the Navigator window of the MT4 platform? If so, are you getting the window that allows the settings to be changed? If not, again check with your broker's website for basic instructions.

Are you completing the data window and do NOT have a smiley face in the upper right corner? If no smiley face, check the broker's FAQ, or mine on my yahoo group files site for instructions on how to get a smiley face.

Have you done all this correctly and have a smiley face and still nothing happens? If so, are you trying to run the software when the market is closed for the weekend? Nothing will happen during the closed hours. Wait until the market opens for the week and then load the robot.

Take care,
Bill

Bill

Who does GoFXPro use as their broker? Do they reroute your EA signals into an ECN? I'd be interested to know what MT4 broker a large asset management company would use.

Thanks Bill.

Tom

Hi,

GoFXPro uses PFG because of their strong NFA compliance.

Yes, at this time GoFX reroutes my signals through his ECN.

Take care,
Bill

I posted this in italics below in my Blog. Out of integrity, I must post this here in this thread also. Traders come first!

Due to recent poor performance and an overwhelming string of losses (that always happens shortly after I start ) I must reallocate $5,000.00 of funds out of GoFxPro into the other parts of the portfolio. I was heavily weighted into the correlation robot of the GoFxPro methodologies, but until they get it all sorted out I must take 5k of the funds out. The account remains open with about 4K in there (still heavily weighted in comparison). I think the method is valid that they use, but they are going to have to stop this “fishing” every day and churning out the account.

ES

P.S. There should be more winning days than losers (and if not the winners should be larger than the losers) and recently there have only been a handful of successful "fishing" days thus far. I feel that the sample size is large enough and the market has displayed some variation, eventhough it has been tough for many methods.

I agree with you ES. Since 2 months with Bill on a managed account, I have lost 20% of the acount value. Not a very good track record and FAR from the 1% - 2% a day as described in the thread title.
