Trade size is too large for the account balance on this on. Margin call is around the corner. Have to keep the trade at 0.1 or it may blow out the account here.

This issue will be addressed down the raod and we will have a stoploss.

Hi Bernard

I downloaded you EA and had it running part of yesterday and part of today.
It did place some trades, however, It seemed to close out on a couple of trades very early when the market went slightly against it. These trades did finish break even.

A couple of other trades that opened went into a very good profit (one around 100 pip profit) but it did not close these out and eventually these dropped back down to being around break even.

What is the stop loss set at in this EA, only like I said, it seemed to close out early when the market moved against it but did break even.
Why did it not take the profit it had before it moved against it?

Sorry but can I ask, is it supposed to work like this or is there is something I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Excalibur V3 is working as it should have here. If the trade goes into a profit and then reverses it should close out the trade with no losses. There is a trailing stop built into Excalibur V3 but if the profit has not been met for this condition, then it will close out at no profit or little loss.

The finished version of Excalibur V3 will allow for the end user to set the profit margin to their own preferences. Yes the finished Version will allow for the end user to set a stoploss.

I know this might appear frustrating for the moment. with no stoploss, but please bear with me while I go through the data flowing in here and adjust Excalibur V3 to settings that ensure better results.

Excalibur V3 is progressing great and I now have it programmed to work on smaller accounts at around $250.00 USD for the smaller traders here like me....lol

The e-mail alert system is done and ready for testing as well, although I am sure we will have some issues with this as well.

Once the e-mail alert function has been fully tested I will release the finished version to every beta tester ready for live trading. I will be uploading a full new set of Excalibur V3 here shortly.

Everyone involved should replace the old files with these new ones.

To success

We are not Prayer Trading here.
I know what I am trying to do here and do not want a stoploss in these tests. I need the information posted as it comes in so please everyone try to be careful with the default settings and if you burn out a demo account remember this is a beta test and there are as may demo accounts as we need.

A stoploss setting, take profit setting will all be there in the finished version. PLease let the open trades simply run. I need to know the drawdown and how long these open trades run.
Bernard

All new Files Updated November 05 2008

Thanks to all the information that has been pouring in here I have done another update and also have enabled the e-mail alert function.

I have uploaded the new files here and on the first post.

Many members have requested that I put the instruction in a Doc file. with pictures.

I attempted to upload it here, the Doc file, but was unable. Too big maybe.

DO not know.

The instructions.txt in the instructions.txt file has a link for a direct download for those that require the complete instruction. PLease read the ientire instructions file before installing the new files.

To Success
Bernard

Why Information is important

The Excalibur V3 is working great.

The information I am looking at all the time is not only the trade, win or lose, but the time it traded, how long it is open and the currency as well as the time frame.

The perfect EA should know what time trading is best as well as many other things.

Keep up the great work here.

Bernard

Margin Call

Too bad, it's already Margin Called.
Is there any setting for lot size? I just used all default setting except changing the Magic Number.
Yes. SL is vital for all EA. There is always a chance to get through anything in this market condition..

Great Start... Bad Finish!!

Hello Bernard

I had a great start at the beginning of the week, Monday my balance was
$4069.75 for a gain of $1069.75

Today (11-7-08) not so good. there were some major loses during the week..
account is now @ $1 707.67

three trades on the gbpusd @ .40 lots -$816 ... a stop loss here would have been nice

this is what beta testing is all about, overall I like the potential of this EA

Good week here.

Bernard,

Here are my results for the last week. I am still testing the one hour charts in: EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/CHF, USD/JPY, and GBP/JPY. I have also added: USD/CAD, AUD/USD, NZD/USD, EUR/GBP, EUR/JPY, EUR/CHF, and GBP/CHF.

As I mentioned before, I accidentally applied the EUR/USD dedicated EA to all the charts for about 12 hours, but it seems to have worked remarkably well.

I opened a $5000 demo account with FIBOGroup and immediately got the "invalid trade volume error (131)" that some people have been getting. Realised that the account was a standard one and should have been trading 0.10 lots instead of the 0.01 default for Excalibur. Downloaded your update which allowed flexible sizing and the trades started almost staright away. I'll let the FIBOGroup account continue for another week and see what happens.

I've set up a $3000 demo account with LiteForex and I'll test your latest "currency-specific" 30 min EAs against that account next week.

Cheers,
Wayne
Hi Bernard,
I let the FIBOGroup trading continue uninterrupted for the whole week - with the old EA and including the slashing of the English interest rates by 1.5% and the poor US NFP report. The original bad trades never recovered and, although the closed trades show the account has more than doubled, the nett result was a loss of $352.37 with possible further downside. I won't persue this EA any further.

The new EAs designed for each currency fared much better on my Liteforex account. I'll add a post about them in the next few hours.

Good trading,
Wayne

Tried EA Friday 07 Nov 2008

I also tried the EA during the whole of Friday on the following pairs , 15min Time Frame , on demo account with FXDD.
Pairs = GBP/JPY , EUR/CHF, EUR/USD , USD/JPY

Total Profit generated 222 pips
Current Float -88pips

Seems to have worked ok here with these pairs and time frame and for the first day.

Will continue to monitor and report again at end of week and maybe compile more details ( eg particular profits/losses on each pair ).

Tks for sharing
