My concern though are the open trades. 2 of one pair and 3 of another. I don't know the mixes right now. I'm at work. These two mixes are down a total of about 2200 pips. Do these mixes have a s/l or is Excalibur hoping the market will swing back it's way. I understand trading the lot size smaller to allow for wild swings, but 900 pips is a seriously wide swing for this trading style. If the program (or I) close these for a loss right now, the number of profitable trades to losses would be very low but the maxium downdraw would be very large. Thanks for the system and I'll post both of my results tomorrow night.

Thank you, for taking the timeto input here, and a good question.
Using such small lots and closing the open. losing trades would still show one heck of a profit in pips, not money since the lots size is so small.
There is no currency that will never recover, given time, and if that loss is lucky enough to be generating a positive "swap" then when it recovers, we gain the extra funds from the swap as well. Many Carry Traders trade for this reason only and do not concern themselves with the pips profit immediately but rather the "swap" rate, which is always greater than any Bank, can offer.
We are not Carry Traders with
Excalibur V3, but it is built in there as well.
If we were trading live. With a large account and made
800 plus pips we would be more than happy for that in a weeks return and would think about, not me though, closing out he losing trades and walk away with a nice profit.
There are so many traders that do not take the time to look at any trade as an investment in the future and rather look for immediate profit and the " rush" that comes with making an instant gain. Emotions are the killer in trading and the main reason that the so-called 90% factor for traders losing their accounts.
Money management,
lot size and discipline are what make winners and successful traders.
Excalibur V3 eliminates all these decisions and our hope is that
Excalibur V3 will eventually show us through extensive testing which currencies that it does best on. At that point we will be able to concentrate on the selected currencies and make
Excalibur V3 the best possible application we can program.
There is a long and at time frustrating road ahead of those of us that stick with this beta test.
I ensure everyone involved, that it will be well worth it when we get to the end of the road here.
Excalibur V3 will be give to everyone free of charge when completed and will be well worth the time and effort we will all have invested in this project.
On a different note I have another EA “Camelot” that will be released for beta testing down the road when we finish this project.
Automated Trading is the way of the future; we all know that and looking for the “Holy Grail” as in fiction does not exist. What does exist is trial and error, battles fought and lost, fought and won and as in any battle once we figure out our strategy, we continue to keep what we fought for.
To Success and please everyone keep up the great work here.
Edward keep the trades open..
To Success
