GarethWilliams Trading Method

Hi all traders!

Hope everyone is ok. I have been looking and researching the Forex Market now for about 5 years and i am still learning. Throughout this time i have been developing systems and ways of gaining tose lovely pips.

So over the matter of time i have found three indicators;

1. EMA @ 75

2. JMA @ 40

3. StepMA v6.4

Looking at these carefully you can see the massive potential.

The Rules

Buy Trade

Once the StepMA has gone above the EMA its a buy signal. To exit the trade you wait until the JMA has gone above the StepMA.

Sell Trade

Once the StepMA has gone below the EMA its a buy signal. To exit the trade you wait until the JMA has gone below the StepMA.

Simple technique but it works, i have found it works every well on the GBPJPY @M15.

The trouble is at the moment i would like any clever programmers to come up with an indicator to alert me when the StepMA has gone above or below the EMA, if anyone could help it would be greatful.

Thanks for you time, and if anyone has any comments or extra ideas for the GarethWilliams Trading Method please post.

Thanks for your time, hope those budding programmers can help,

Regards,

Gareth Williams

Please post the indicators you use.

Alerts?

Hello everyone,

Hope all is ok, Can anyone help in making an alert for my system?

If its possible it would be great if once the StepMA hits the EMA an alert is sounded. It would be great if someone could tell me how to do this, so i can learn for myself?

I look forward to your replies.

Gareth Williams

I'm willing to help program an EA if you can answer a few questions:

How do you determine total commit to a cross while the data is being drawn?

When using MA based strategies, are you forward testing or looking at charts historically and identifying the appropriate trades?

What flaws do you see in the *MA cross system?

Hi daraknor

Thanks for your interest.

I will try and answer your questions as best as i can.

1. I determine total commitment to a cross once the EMA and the StepMA are equal.

2. I have been doing both; I have looked at historical charts and forward tested. My basic rules are that once the EMA is equal to the StepMA I enter the trade corresponding to the trend of the StepMA. I.e. if the StepMa is below the EMA and then equalises then this is an alert for a buy (the reverse for a sell alert).

3. At current i have not seen any flaws.

I hope that helps, but if you have any more questions i will do my vest to help you. Thanks again for your time and efforts.

Gareth Williams

Thanks for your responses. I am about to sleep, but I will try to have the EA posted in a few hours based on the Phoenix Code. (Easy for me to enter signal data and have a fully functional EA.) You're only looking for one indicator cross to enter, and one indicator cross to exit?

Alert

Hi daraknor,

Sorry for keeping you awake. Yeah all I am really looking for is a signal for an buy and sell. But I would like if possible to have an audible alert also.

Thanks for your support and help.

Hi Gareth!

Can I ask, how long have you been trading this?

Also do you have stops, or no matter what, you only exit on the JMA cross?

did you check it another tmeframe say 5 min or only on 15 min?

thanks

Laszlo
